Thai don’t fall under this board’s “he sounds like Saban” spell. We are only ahead of Vanderbilt in recruiting. Saban and Smart could always recruit.
Harsin’s claim to fame is being the guy that Zach Wilson was committed to for a little while.

He went 17-4 19 & 20
He had one season under 10 wins. He kept wanting the university to pick up its game and get into a better conference and improve the facilities.
They wouldn’t. I’m sure it became harder to recruit the kids he wanted when other universities on their level were improving their facilities and image.
Go look at his records at Boise. He had to fill some pretty big shoes and did a damn good job of it.
Won the mountain west or tied at the top 5 times. The other 2 years they were 2nd.
His recruiting was on par with Petersen at Boise.
You have someone writing something that clearly had an axe to grind. I am glad we have Harsin and yes I agree he needs to get his recruiting to a higher level and confident he will.

I feel like he can’t be THAT much of an a-hole given how many of his staff followed him. People have said he can be an a-hole at times but so can plenty of coaches so I don’t doubt it. The coaches that struggle are the assholes that can’t back it up I.e. Matt Patricia in Detroit. If you can coach, plenty of people will put up with some dick behavior to come win with you.

First, I don't think he comes across as an a-hole. Seems like a nice guy that expects you to do your job, and he'll take care of his. The whole media/vaccine thing is just a BS hackjob.
Second, a lot of y'all ITT need some counseling, a Valium, something. Chill out

I’m not saying that I think he comes across as one, but just as an example Eli Drinkwitz said he could be a dickhead. Like I said originally I don’t think that’s necessarily bad. Most of the best coaches are dickheads about executing perfectly.

Bryan vs Hars. The coaches said there was a difference from day to day so I'm sure he's difficult to work for but gives his coaches opportunities to grow in their positions but has high expectations for his coaches. Harsin has talked about coaching development as well as player development.
Recruiting is still a very big question mark... Will decided how long he is the AU coach. Top 10 classes he will make it 7-10 years. If not he will be gone after 3-4 years.

quote:Haven't you ripped your managers and directors in your career? I know I have. I'm not a yeller and screamer but the message was always conveyed. If you don't perform at your job then you don't work here any longer. That's actually not a hard conversation to have in my experience. Williams got shown the door because of that mindset, and it seems AU is better for it.

Maybe I am just hoping for the best. I agree with you that Harsin hasn’t really proven much yet.

I love that fricking song. I’m pretty sure it’s about heroin though lol.
