And for those that think the following 3rd and 2 call was bad. Yeah it probably was, but after Tank ran out of bounds, there was no way Bobo could call a pass play there.

That would have meant Bama gets 1:47 left and one timeout left if incomplete.

Far cry from less than a minute left and no timeouts remaining

I actually disagree, if you can run the clock down under a minute and put them deep in their territory you do it. Once they were going to get the ball back with like 1:40 left, that is, as we saw, enough time to do something with the ball without anything crazy having to happen even if you don't have any timeouts.

The fact Tank went out of bounds actually made the possibility of pass there much more reasonable.

So you’re saying Tank going out of bounds should’ve made the team go all out for the first down and not worry about Bama keeping a timeout.

I kinda disagree. I didn’t like the 3rd and 2 play call though. WildTank or the Georgia pitch would’ve been interesting.

Yes, in college football timeouts aren't that important on offense when there is almost 2 min on the clock.

I'm not saying we should have passed because I don't have confidence that we would have completed but in general if you think your best play to get 2 yards is a pass play I think you call it in that situation if the other team can stop the clock anyway.

It just feels like our defense was our best foot forward. It’s crazy that Bigsby didn’t understand that.

I guess in hindsight Bama ended up winning without needing a Timeout so I guess I agree with you there

Nope

You would definitely bitch if we went for it and didn’t get it. It’s your MO.

I did kind of think we should have gone for it but don’t mind the call either way.

Defense was the reason we were in the game. Offense sucked. I was more confident the defense could make something happen rather than Finley.

No. It had to be done. I was screaming it during the game, I’m still saying it now.

If we would’ve lost that way, oh well. Not an Auburn fan I was with thought we would last in OT.

Truth.

In fact, I'm surprised we managed to score the 12 points we did with the disadvantages we had. Kudos to the offense for keeping hope alive a little longer.

That said, yeah, go for 2 in that first OT. Live with the results.

Stinks too because our #1 two point play worked.

Gonna be ironic when Tank hits the portal partly because AU fans bitched him out for fighting for a first down.

we bitch about coaching and other players every week. But Tank is off limits?

"We should have gone for two"
Signed,
Internet fans of a team that just lost a game on a failed two-point conversion

Yeah, we had one that worked, we also had one that absolutely didn't

Don't get me wrong I'm not second guessing. Obviously in hindsight sure why not but I can see where we wanted to keep putting it on our defense.

However, you also have to factor in our OL and QB situation and the fact our defense had to be totally gassed.

I shade toward we should have gone for it but won't criticize the coaches for that. Not being able to run the clock out though, they really screwed that up.
