Goodness gracious I’m as right as you can go politically but I can separate that from life that doesn’t cause me any issues. If the person transitions as an adult that’s their choice. Now allowing anyone under 18 to take puberty blockers or change their physical biology I’m totally against. I don’t care if one of my boys was a killer I would still love them but obviously would have to make sure they were held responsible for their actions, but could never stop loving them.
But what the hell does someone’s children have to do with how they perform work? I know nothing about the AD we are possibly hiring but to judge him on his home life is weird unless it comes in direct conflict with his work performance or the reputation of Auburn.
Plus for all the religious folks on here and I’m super Christian with a potty mouth but salvation is for the sinner not the saved. Everything doesn’t have to be political just like whatever Harsin’s vaccine status is none of my business but I do know he’s a crappy coach. So let’s chill on the judgement of someone none of us had probably even heard of until today

I never mentioned fear of an incident.
I am just talking about good business sense.
This hire is a fail because the very fact that this is a hot topic on a message board the first day the guy gets hired.
That is my only point.
Don’t hire a guy/girl who espouses a major controversial topic where the country is divided by at least a 50/50 split - and the black community is probably divided 95/5 against it.
You don’t need ANYTHING that can be seen as a negative in your university when you are interviewing a new coach or recruiting a player. It does not matter what my opinion is or is not on this issue. It’s a just that some people have very strong opinions against it.
This is different that a decision of hiring a black coach who has a white wife because 99.99999% of people either don’t care or see it as a good thing. It’s a controversial topic but you are on the obvious winning side of the controversy.
Good.
Business.
Sense.
People.

The guy is apparently a great AD, yet we are worried about hie adult daughter that he probably won’t ever parade around the football team, and lgbtqghfjhfh football patches.

Won MSU their only title. Signed off on large facility improvements. My favorite is the Moorehead hire. Regardless of what they say, he was a hot name at the time. When it was obvious he wasn't working out, he fire him. No dumb long contracts.

I am not saying the guy can’t succeed but he will have more hurdles than the next guy.
Not what we need at this point in our program.

I think what he is getting at is, if we have a clean sheet of paper and are looking at a New Athletic Director to get us back on track, why take a chance on someone who brings that big controversy with him to a large number of people unless the guy is some kind of grand slam hire?
Woke or not, cowards or not, it is a topic that is controversial and him being hired is not going to change that. It’s a deal that can only be used in a negative way against him. Like it or not.
Whether people should or should not be triggered over it is a different subject. Some will. Probably a large portion of people will especially if he starts to fail or makes any crazy moves.
He would be starting off with a strike against him, wrong or not.

But Dragon is trying to relay to you that its not a good business move. That has nothing to do with acceptance. I dont even think he gave you his opinion on the controversial subject or did I but of course you took the fact that we dont think its a good business subject as not non acceptance which is pretty par for the course

He coached baseball for state. He was pretty well known but I didn’t know about the transexual. I doubt these people care about transexuals, they’re more than likely only worried about wokeness that be pushed through their beliefs.
