We were up by 12 with not much time left and he already had 28 carries. No reason to still be in. He then kept him in after that goal line play too.

You think less that a 2 TD lead against Bama is safe? No need to have your best player in. Were up 12?

You are casting judgement on Gus using hindsight

So much dumb in this post.

Stop blaming for Gus for getting the job done. Be better.

Gus gave me my best AU memories. No problems with him. Just stating what I saw happen at the end of that season, I hated that 2017 SECCG

Was fortunate to be in attendance at 4 of the 5 of those games

ETA: the 2001 Florida game was particularly surprising. Philip Pate was a little known third string linebacker who was only in the game as a result of injuries, and he played his absolute arse off that night. We need one or two of those performances tomorrow. Somebody out of nowhere to play their arse off.

I hated that game too. But we have lost to them every single season since 2013 and odds are we would lose in Atlanta, with or without

I’ll take the 2017 season and those massive wins regardless of where it may have put us today.

You’re exactly right.

But Gus had most of us “Trauma bonded.”

It’s like one of our old girlfriends, “I’m IN, I’m OUT, I’m IN I’m OUT” etc etc etc

That 2013 Natty loss and the PTSD it created in him COMPLETELY changed him.

Gus may have been a good not great coach but the rise of Bama, UGA, and LSU contributed to some of his meh seasons.

In context they are in the glory years of their programs histories. And we hung in there. Just barely missing a national championship.

Now it’s time to turn the page. Level up the recruiting and hit our cycle of a few great years. It’s gonna take 2-3 to get the talent in but we gotta stay patient regardless of what happens this weekend or this season.

I know 5-12 is not a great record at anything but what is the best at beating #1 teams?

I feel like this is a good record though

I was at 3.

Had friends make the trip in '94. I should have gone, but my exgirlfriend (we all wish I had pics) went to UF and I hated her and UF with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. Clouded my judgement.
