Most of the high powered passing attacks now have air raid principles

Few use pure air raid but a ton incorporate the passing concepts

century. Either nobody else wanted him, he was too scared to leave, or he had no career ambition.

And? Are you saying he cannot be a better football coach than Propst because, among all possibilities, he may not have wanted to leave North Alabama?

Jake Spavital if not one of the Briles.

Spavital seems a likely candidate to me if we dont promote from within. seems like a Briles just isnt happening so my hope from that list would probably be Lindsey. at least he might have a shot at Gus somewhat trusting him where guys like Dameyune couldnt get a word in. you have to look at this hire in a somewhat unconventional fashion since youre dealing with Gus who is nuttier than a squirrel turd.

I think ASU had like 5 qbs injured this year this year.

He's making 550k /year at ASU were expectations aren't that high.

Would he give that up to come here and risk being fired along with Gus ?

From an obscure poster on AUF:

The head coach at Bob Jones high school tweeted 13 hrs ago that Chip Lindsey is the new OC for us. Any reason this guy would have inside info to be believed?

Yes, I am saying that. You know what makes a good coach? Drive and ambition. Anybody can draw up a play. Anybody can instruct a player on technique or learn to recognize formations and call a play. That's the easy part of coaching. Nick Saban is an average X's and O's coach, but what separates him is his drive, he never stops. Rush Probst is the same way. He just let his personal life get in the way and now he'll just have to settle for being the GOAT HS coach.

And so what if being at Hoover was a factor in Saban wanting Probst. Why didn't Mothershed go to Bob Jones and try to get a college job? It's not like Probst started at Hoover. He was also HC at Ashville, Eufaula, and Alba. Probst could've easily stayed at Eufaula for 25 years and been a legen there, but that's just not something great coaches do

And his administration recognized this and that's why they forced him out. That's why he never won another championship after the 90's. He was content with being the small town legend instead of pushing himself to get better and keep winning

Don't get all butthurt just because nobody with any real talent is going to stay in your shitty hometown

for some reason I am not excited about chip lindsey at all. Just another Gus pawn that he can control and run play action pass on 3rd and long.

Yep. And leaving for better jobs doesn't make you one. Stop embarrassing yourself.

ASU HC Todd Graham is on a hotter seat than Gus Malzahn right now

If I had to gamble on my success with what Auburn has returning on O or what ASU has returning on O, I'd take Auburn in a heart beat

Not saying he gets an excuse but just hard to judge the results in that context

That's fair enough. His 2015 season at Southern Miss was really good and a huge improvement of their 2014 season, so that is promising.

If Chip has more than 3 passing plays and can teach the slant, then come on down.

Says the guy shitting on somebody else's hometown while attempting to shite on mine. Fail.

You're basically a failure at life that claims to love football but doesn't even know the great HS football programs in Alabama.

You two just need to go ahead and meet up at sonic.

Let's get back to how else Gus is going to drive our football dreams into the ground.

Maybe just maybe I am misunderstanding what you are writing but Probst is now in Georgia coaching at Colquitt County High School. He won back to back AAAAAA championships in 2014/2015. He had them in the Sweet 16 this year (a rebuilding year) in the new Georgia AAAAAAA. In 2013 he had them in the final four of AAAAAA. In 2012 he had them in the final four of AAAAAA. In 2011 he had them in the final four of AAAAAA. In 2010 they were runners up.In 2009 the final four.

Head Coach at Bob Jones is a contemporary of Chip Lindsey, though Chip is about 5-6 years younger. Both attended the University of North Alabama, both coached in/around North Alabama at the same times. Chip Lindsey also went to and played at Bob Jones. I don't know of a more specific nexus, but probably some credibility there.

FWIW, Head Coach at Bob Jones is a good guy. Not prone to exaggerate.

I'm beginning to wonder if Chip was the reason for a lot of the success in 2013? I understand the QB situation was abysmal for the most part after he left, but I definitely could see a huge drop-off in adaptability and scheming from 2014-present now that I think about it.
