Most of ya'll need to get those 10 toes off the ledge. Harsin has a major rebuild to do, not only amongst talent in the team, but in culture as well.
We were so used to ups and downs and zero consistency. We couldnt string two years together that showed any progress. It was always a huge letdown year and then a really productive year.
Gus left us with such a shite sandwich, that Harsin is going to have to tear this thing down to the bones and rebuild it.
I'm emotionally ready to give Harsin 4-5 years to get this thing turned around. He showed consistency and improvement in just one season. We cannot panic because an Offensive Coordinator, who was referred and given glowing recommendations from others, and congratulated on his hire, decides to backstep and rethink his commitment to the program. This will do more damage to Davis reputation than it will Auburns.
If anything , Kiesau (sp?) will step in as OC since he already knows Harsins system. We need buy in more than we need big name hires.
I want to see a 7 win season next year, an 8 win the following year, and then consistently beating who we should beat and winning a few we shouldnt after that.
Give these kids and this Coaching Staff the support they need to be successful. No one should want this team to do badly just so you can say "i told you so".

I'm hopeful Hars can convince Davis today, but if not well on to the next one. It's ridiculous to accept a position, then not put in the work after accepting.

Auburn 247 has an article up that he is gone. They don't seem to think he's coming back

My take:
he didn’t understand the hours and hours required to recruit then when he learned what was expected decided college coaching was not for him.
I’d rather him leave today than try to half arse recruiting.

That may be the issue, but that's 100% on Harsin for hiring a young NFL guy and not discussing this extremely thoroughly in the interview. It was a risk hiring a young guy and it was as risk hiring an nfl guy with really no college coaching experience.
Both of those are on Harsin, especially with the recent optics of the other coaching issues.
I understand recruiting is a beast of its own, but what college or NFL coach doesn't understand that? I mean look at the shite BK is doing, if you aren't willing to do some shite and put in the time college isn't for you.

All these culture culture culture folks on here saying the culture was all broken and needs to be rebuilt just gonna say this
It's hard to sell culture when no one is buying it. Not players, not recruits, not coaches. The coaches are the big one because they are usually a constant.
We will see how it turns out but it's a rough as hell year and about as bad a start as new HC could have a top 15 school.

Headrusch, that’s a lazy take.
His own hires are leaving. He is the culture. The planets orbit around him.

The head coaching search starts in about 11 months so I guess we should start coming up with names.

I’m not trying to defend Harsin but there’s absolutely no way for us to know how thoroughly Harsin discussed it. Davis was also on Staff with Pete Carroll who knows a thing or two about college recruiting. It’s entirely possible that Davis looked at an SEC OC position, thought he could do it, then got on the recruiting trail and realized how tough it is on you. I think many people have agreed to new jobs then very quickly realized it wasn’t for them.
Not saying that’s what happened either, but there’s no way to know

Idk why we continue to act like Gus left us in horrible shape other than to excuse some of Harsin’s stuff. He did leave us bad in spots. But he left us with a team good enough to go 7-5, 8-4 ish. He didn’t leave us with something that was in need of a major rebuild.
It looks bleak. I think pretty much everyone can admit that. Maybe he’ll turn it around but right now if I was betting on it, I’d say he’s not going to.

And we easily could have gone 9-3 if Auburn didn't fall apart in the 2nd half of the last 3 regular season games.

No they can't Weagle they are to proud to say it was a good job when Gus left (and yes it was time for a change things had gone stale for the fan base) and Harsin has crashed and burned every attempt to get off the ground.
Like I said we will see how it goes. It's my opinion that like ADAG stepped up last week to resolve an issue that could have festered up with Bruce and locked it down that he goes to Harsin this week and makes sure he knows to get this shite show straight immediately.

Tell me how last year was a improvement. please tell
I don't like that we fired Gus but he gone and as of today we are still going in the wrong direction. I'm all about AUBURN have been for 55 years but Harsin needs to step it up.

The culture is so bad that we have guys who are taking their COVID year to come back? The culture is so bad we have guys that could declare for the draft but they're coming back?
The culture is so bad that our best receiver got kicked off the team, and not a single player has come out to defend him. You think the team doesnt know what he did? Perhaps I'm not as tied in on social media with our team, but I havent seen a single one say anything in his defense.
Look at the players that are going or went to Gus at UCF. Big Kat has done nothing but shite talk Auburn since he left. Is that the culture we want on our team? Hudson has gone to UCF, where he is guaranteed to get half the passes at UCF than he did this year.
Its not a lazy take, its an observant take from someone that doesnt have my emotional identity tied to a football team made up of 18-21 year olds.
