Oh, I didn't realize for most of his season's at Boise State his OC was Zak Hill except for his first and last year--last year being Kiseau; first year Eliah Drinkwitz. So his offenses weren't bad under Hill, but with him out of the picture, it's up in the air. It looks like he relied on OCs for play calling mostly through his career.

Hope you're not talking about the football facility because it's badly needed.

Harsin was a damn good OC @ Boise for Chris Petersen and @ Texas for Mack Brown
i just realized he was OC during the iconic 2007 fiesta bowl. that's cool.
i'm curious (as most of us are) if he wants to take over playcalling duties this next go round or if he still wants an OC who is going to handle all of that.

Thinking about making this the coaching search thread. Any Auburn coach that's fired or leaves we come to this thread. Good idea or bad idea?

Those were nice plays to beat Oklahoma!

Just reading this statline from boise's profile of Harsin makes me envious of his possibility as playcaller, sure it was that conference, but something has to be right:
"Harsin was Petersen’s offensive coordinator for five of his eight seasons as head coach (2006-10), and was named a finalist for the 2009 Broyles Award, awarded annually to the nation’s top assistant coach. Boise State went 61-5 during his tenure as offensive coordinator.
With Harsin on staff, Boise State has won 11 conference championships."

Yeah, he called the famous statue of liberty play.
It's amazing how guys like Gus and Harsin who made a name for themselves being offensive minded coaches come here and the offense just fricking sucks.

Some Ponce rumors on 247?

Yep he definitely has credentials. You throw his head coaching record on top of that and his résumé is impeccable.
I have faith in him to turn things around. Him getting rid of Bobo certainly helps. It’s obvious he trusted him just a little too much.

Think that would be a good hire

App State was 47 in total offense vs. Bobos 62

QB guy who has been around the southeast for a while, although not in the SEC. i wouldn't be mad with the hire. seems like the kind of guy who we could have for multiple years if things work out and i like the thought of that. Lord knows we need some continuity at OC.

I love how that’s the stat we use to determine if someone is good or not after one year

25th in scoring FWIW (we were high 50s I think)

He has a lot of connections to the Miami area. He coached at Miami Northwestern and Miami Central. Two monster schools

He had a better offense at App state than Bobo did at Auburn last year. We can probably keep him around for a few years. I don't hate it.

We're not getting Joe Brady.
