Have to change state legislation to compete with the big boys. When Bama starts bitching about an unfair playing field things will change.
What?
Pretty sure Bryce Young has a million dollar NIL deal. What's the state law that prevents any player taking advantage of NIL money?

I think the state law is that boosters can't participate in NIL deals

Makes sense.

Which sucks if other states don't have those same laws.

We could start an Auburn board NIL agency. Would generate 10s of dollars

We could pay Bo to shite post here every week. He gets a $20 bonus if he posts to the Rant.

Weekly poster from the team. Could change week to week.
That's a great idea.

What officially makes someone a booster? This doesn’t make any sense to me.

We can’t have that because then we all might start to like him

Alabama State NIL Law
NCAA definition of a booster
quote:
It prevents colleges and universities and their officers, directors, and employees, along with sponsors and boosters, from compensating or directing compensation to student-athletes or their families for use of their NIL.

This is dumb. How can anyone do this then?
quote:
Boosters, referred to by the NCAA as “representatives of the institution’s athletic interests,” include anyone who has:
Provided a donation in order to obtain season tickets for any sport at the university.
Participated in or has been a member of an organization promoting the university’s athletics programs.
Made financial contributions to the athletic department or to a university booster organization.
Arranged for or provided employment for enrolled student-athletes.
Assisted or has been requested by university staff to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student athletes or their families.
Been involved otherwise in promoting university athletics.
Once an individual is identified as a “representative of the institution’s athletics interests,” the person retains that identity forever.

My interpretation has always been that the booster couldn't give an NIL deal directly, but it doesn't say anything about a business that just happens to be owned by a booster.

Believe this is right. While Jimmy Raine can't sponsor a kid doesn't say Yellowood couldnt

So then we need to form Auburn Board LLC and we are good

I'd be willing to do this tomorrow, but I wonder if a quorum of us could ever agree on anything
Would be some interesting board meetings

There is an article behind the paywall on the ASU 247 site that is titled “Auburn hits snag in offensive coordinator search, now what for Zak Hill?”.
All I can see as I can’t access their VIP stuff, but looks like Hill might be out.

That article is apparently by an Auburn 247 writer, Nathan King. Got me guessing that the snag is just the vetting of recruiting violations. Surely Jones would tell us if he was out.

There's a post from a few days ago titled something like that, but I don't see anything from today? Nothing really new. Waiting on compliance.
