Bham, AL is the best place in the world to live if you are a bass fishermen. Within 1.5 hrs of the house, I have every lake type and river type imaginable to fish. Say whatever else you want about it, but we have the fisheries.

When you include this along with other sources shared with other states such as the Tennessee River system, Chattahoochee River, Perdido River (etc)...
ETA: (Disclaimer)... could go on for far too long; however not to bore you with such, as I once did educational river trips for the Cahaba River Society (in my time off between jobs - after taking a voluntary severance package - largely in part to do things like paddle whitewater all over the country).
