Luckily it's not a varsity sport and not under the guidance of Jay Jacobs, so he can't frick it up.

Reminded me of one of my recent fishing trips with Lanier.
Ooops wrong one.
We were talking about heading out fishing, but I never made into the water. I think Lanier is passed out on the grass.

I fish with these kids a pretty decent amount. They fish the BASS Nation events with us. All the kids I’ve met have been great representatives for Auburn University and have also been good fishermen.
My bass club will be sending a couple of kids down there soon. We hope to have a Birmingham Bass Club kid or two on the team in the not too distant future.
The one upside to Auburn sucking at football is my fishing trips go up exponentially.

HOUSTON — In 2013, Jordan Lee was a member of the Auburn University fishing team.
Today, he's on top of the professional bass fishing world.
The 25-year-old pro from Guntersville, Ala., stayed within striking distance all week at the GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods. Then during Sunday's final round at Minute Maid Park, he caught five bass from Lake Conroe that weighed 27 pounds, 4 ounces, pushing his three-day total to a tournament-best 56-10.
Lee earned $300,000 and the most coveted trophy in the sport, while Steve Kennedy — a resident of Auburn, Ala. — finished second with 55-1.

Did anybody take fly fishing at auburn? I guess it was a course during the quarter system but stupid me took organic gardening and made selection. Stupid classes.

Never been a double buzz fan. I did read where War Eagle Spinnerbaits sold out to Pradco. Guess that means I need to switch over to SOB when Pradco craps all over War Eagle.....

SOB is dead. SpotSticker is alive.
I was one of the few that knew the story behind Bill using the SOB Fishing Products name. Still never liked it. I killed it as soon as I purchased the company. The only place that still uses it is Tackle Warehouse. Cant seem to get them to drop it

I need to get some mini-me's. I had a problem with the short arm and getting the blades turning right. Seems I had to "pop" them a lot to get em turning.

The front blade is a 3.5. We use that small blade to make sure you can get depth and speed. It does not catch a lot of water. The rear blade is a 4 which has no issues. If you like, we can make them without the bend in the arm which helps that. Depending on where you fish and what kind of water, the new 1oz Mini Me is probably the best spinnerbait I have ever used. I pretty much use it exclusively. Of course I fish open water mostly.

Bham, AL is the best place in the world to live if you are a bass fishermen. Within 1.5 hrs of the house, I have every lake type and river type imaginable to fish. Say whatever else you want about it, but we have the fisheries.
I'll try the 1oz. I slow roll ledges in the Fall and Winter here. Normally do that with a 1oz chatterbait.
