Why? We aren’t going to use Elliot in a high leverage spot. We have our three best guys in the pen with two shots to close it out. Mize was at 95 pitches and is about to be filthy rich. No need to stretch him with an 11 run lead

We need to save as many arms as possible. We may have to play two more games. Mize wouldn't pitch in either one anyway. If he was still cruising, let him finish and rest until next weekend. I know he has already pitched complete games this year.
ETA now if he was showing signs that he was tiring, that's a different story.

Mize was at 95 pitches in a game we had already won, just like any other sport you pull your starters. So far we have used a total of 5 pitchers, Burns threw 6 innings, Welby 3, Mize 7, EA 1, and Herndon 1. Welby, EA, and Herndon could all pitch today and Burns could give you an inning or two tomorrow. So essentially our entire bullpen is available.
Plus with Casey's injury history and where we are at in the season it just makes sense to limit his pitches.

NC State is up 5-1 in the 7th. Believe Army just doesn’t have the offense to overcome this kind of lead.
