Agreed. He isn’t a gunslinger, and that’s the missing piece to really see the full potential of the RPO.

Arnold for the most part isn’t going to put the ball in harms way. Especially when the run game is going like it has for 3 weeks now.
Now DL and LB play was poor today. We never could figure out how to back fill from down the line because they were out flanking us at the point of attack. However, we gave up very few big plays so there’s that and only gave up 15 to a pretty good South Alabama team. They will average about 35 a game in the Sunbelt

2017 we played Louisiana Monroe between Georgia and Bama and played so poorly after Georgia that we had to get Kerryon Johnson 20 carries against LaMo to ice the game. We went on to beat Bama the next week.

My point on being vanilla, was…we should definitely run base against these teams and we should focus on winning the play. We lost the play in many cases, There was little energy. The crowd seemed dead. The game was meh. Our coaches were hopefully spending their time and energy on OU planning. We should have gone out there and out manned them with the game plan we had. It wasn’t bad for Durkin. Our players didn’t do it. Not sure they were as locked in. Our line gave Arnold all day. Next week could get ugly or we could beat them by two scores. I don’t know how good we are yet.
