This OL sucks. Thornton needs to go.
I wish we had a good coach like Curt Cignetti.

You don’t call a play that could take a sack in that situation
Dumb statement. Every pass play can take a sack. You don’t pump fake last 10 second play. You throw it away and take the field goal, like a 5th year senior.

bullshite. He had Lambert Smith again and he held on to it bc he didnt want to make a mistake......and in doing so, made a mistake
LT threw a lookout block. All there is to it.

No, you call a single-read and if its covered you throw it away.
Common fricking sense for everybody but you, Throne, and Hugh.

My guy - the defender was on him in under 3 seconds. He can't throw the ball away

Not on him. That’s on the coaches for the call and his LT for not even trying to slow down his man.

As an OT you can’t get beat inside on a rush. Let the defender take the outside and keep pushing him up field.

You can’t call a drop back pass in that situation
It was not a called drop back. It was a called catch it and throw it. Hence why PT didn’t drop back.

Thorne had to eat it.
No tf he didn’t. He could have thrown it away. He had time enough to pump the ball multiple times.

Bad communication by the coach.
Bad decision making by the coach.
Bad time management by the coach.
Bad play by the QB.
Not sure how someone could think it was good communication, decision making, time management and QB play.

Guys that play was not on Thorne. That was: A. coaching B. the LT failing as clownishly as any LT has ever failed. You can’t call a drop back pass in that situation, and if you do your protection had better be there. Thorne had to eat it. The result of not doing so was likely either a turnover or grounding which would have given them a runoff and ended the half anyway.
And yet he still had time to check off of a receiver and look for another and double-pump the ball before the sack happened.

You understand that you can't just "throw the ball away" without leaving the pocket, correct? He was IN THE POCKET.
It was just an idiotic play-call and a clear whiff on the LT.

You called him an idiot, so yes.
I would have not pump faked and the ball away and given my team a chance for a field goal, instead of taking a sack, since we had no time outs. Pretty standard procedure for a QB of his tenure. Do you disagree?

My guy I don’t know how much football you’ve played but that was a 3 step drop by design.
