I figured it was a good bit lower just by judging the flow of the game. Even though we didn't play well, it was much better to watch.

I'm pretty sure the average from the first 3 games was 52, so it was a pretty significant drop off (-15). Unfortunately, we're only making about 65% of our FTs and only made 59.1% last night. We really need to improve that to about 75% as a team (knowing that LaRon is probably going to be at about 50%).
Purely hypothetical, but I'm curious what will happen as far as lineups go if Wiley gets here this season. In my head, I keep coming up with:
PG: Harper, Johnson
SG: Heron, Brown/Lang
SF: Purifoy, Dunans/Lang
PF: LaRon/Spencer, McLemore
C: Wiley, LaRon/Spencer
No idea if this would work, but we'd have too many guys to play at C if you keep Wiley, Spencer, and LaRon there, so maybe one will slide to PF? I don't know how it would work out for Heron or Purifoy either, but it seems like we need some kind of change to fill the black hole that is SG for us right now.
I should probably quit thinking about this and study

I think Lang/McElmore are the ones whose minutes truly suffer.

I think you overestimate how many minutes Wiley will get in December/January. Outside of matchup concerns, Wiley will have a major adjustment period

Purifoy almost for sure will stay at the 4 unless we are having matchup. Bruce's system loves the stretch 4 that is a reasonable outside shooter. The 4 plays at the top of the key and gets a ridiculous amounts of open 3pt looks. Most of Purifoy's 3s + Tyler Harris/Granger last year were wide open in that role

Dunans will be great if he ever accepts that he needs to be a distributor.
If Dunans accepted that role, he could average 6-8ppg, 4-5 apg and 5+ rpg and one of the most valuable players on the team

Updated OP with better Schedule/ RPI information

I think I set the formulas up right so that I can update that extremely easily too.

Now that is how a stickied long term thread should be managed. Not like the recruiting thread where you have to point out OP hasn't been updated in 6 months to get anything done.
Hats off to you sir

Purdue lost to Louisville tonight. They only scored 19 in the first half, but came back and only lost 71-64.

What is beIN? And this is just some of my OCD, but can you make the W/L columns the same size? It irks me that the L column is 4 times the size of the W column.

Why does our KenPom rating always suck?

When we lose, we often lose big. When we win, we often don't win big nor win regularly against good teams.
Alternatively, RPI uses adjusted Win% not margin of victory.

We need to start scheduling our midweek BS games against Eastern Kentucky/Georgia State in Birmingham BJCC
We'd have better attendance from BHam people, we get to count it as a neutral site for RPI and it gives early "Road" type experience while still getting home type crowds

My take so far on this team:
Bad - poor defense, low basketball iq, and poor free throw shooting have plagued every pearl coached team; seniors have been disappointing; too reliant on freshmen; Brown and Lang are head cases that are wasting their tremendous upsides
Good - we aren't as reliant on a single scorer as we have been in the past; heron is the real deal; Purifoy has potential to be the real deal if he could mature a little; freshman talent and in game experience bodes well for the future; we haven't played anywhere close to a complete game and we are 5-1
