That is Butch Jones level incompetence.
He was in for one play in the MSU (?) game that never officially happened. He came in for a play, a penalty negated the play, and he came off the field. So he officially played zero downs in that game. They appealed to the NCAA and were turned down ($1 to Auburn Elvis for the rundown of it on Twitter). It’s frustrating, but not this Titanic-level show of ineptitude like a lot of people are acting like it is.
I get that it’s frustrating to see that happen with such a highly-rated recruit, but these kind of circumstances are bound to happen with major new rule changes. If this was the only issue, he wouldn’t be leaving, and I’d imagine he’d have gotten enough playing time to not warrant the RS in the first place.
We’ve got a thousand things to be melting like Nazis with the Ark of the Covenant about.
This isn’t one of them.

Xzactly. If he is really talented, he isn't staying in college past year 3 anyways. Seems the rumors about him are true. Gus isn't known to RS guys ready. He has stated many a time Greg Rob taught him that.

She did?
Yea, she stated that the mishap wouldn't cause him to transfer... all she wanted was ownership and an answer!

I think her answer was more of a deflection. I remember her response being more like this conversation isn’t about transferring.

The coaching staff is still wrong for making this situation a fine line of confusion and making a mistake, which ended up happening. And it seems they weren't being straight to A. Martin.
Also, Malzahn said to media that after he was questioned about Martin, he said he would be used more now in the offense. Never happened. So, this Freshman probably felt like they were not being honest to him, and even still the coaches have not come forward to explain the error they made with him.
It is important, bc keeping highly valued recruits hurts your depth and Gus has now let at least 3 Alabama Mr. Football players leave for one reason or another.

That’s why I qualified with “(partial)”

ok, but who are you including for additional reasons why Asa is transferring to complete your partial to a whole?
