Yeah, we KNOW Harsin is No Saban but who IS?
I just hope he shows improvement. A bowl victory, decent recruiting class and 8 or 9 wins next season will be trending the right direction.
But yeah, I can certainly see where your concerns are. They are glaring (at the moment).

There is no “decent” recruiting class to be had. There are no players left that makes this class a decent class by any Auburn standard. So 2 ole Miss caliber classes and a 3rd that might be just a hair better then the MSU and Ole Misses.
Like I said a few weeks ago when everyone was just going along just fine with Harsin. He won’t survive after year 3.
Here’s a side piece of info for you to swallow. Everyone is pointing to the ‘23 class. USCe and Auburn will battle for who finishes 6th in the conference.

I don’t think the coaching staff you put together is realistic, but that is…

Let’s see how it all plays out and translates on the field in games. Either way: Auburn was fine before him and will be just fine without him.
An up and coming coach I have my eye on is Dan Lanning.

Who wouldn’t come? Raymond doesn’t have a job now. Or it’s up in the air. Dell is looking for anything that can promote himself to a head coach position. He could come here with the thought that Coach G is only staying 2-3 years and possibly take over. TRob might come home. Coach G would definitely come to be head coach

Because Auburn is a pinnacle job. Not only are we the 13th in wins we are top 10ish the last 30 years.
If that is the case, your argument for Garner, an unproven HC or even coordinator, is beyond ridiculous.

It’s called fear. They are afraid of the schedule unless they are getting ungodly money thrown at them

Nobody is man. Thats why you need to stop bringing it up. Saban took a totally broken program to the pinnacle. You cant compare what he did to anyone else

I mean that is the idea but is 8-9 wins now the goal? I thought we were tired of that. We will be lucky if a lot of the talent that Harsin received when he took over the program does not hit the portal. I hope not but this is 2021 and that is what these kids do
That is why it is important to bring in as much talent as you can. In all areas. You cant keep a lot of it around to have it ready when you need it like you could before. You have to keep replenishing it.

Raymond is going to highly sought after.
G might come to be HC if that’s even what he wants
Dell may not want to come to Auburn to be OC
TRob might come. Who knows.
Still that’s a lot of recruiting skill, not much experience in either coach at their new responsibility. That’s also lot of ego. Might as well bring in Coach Prime too.

Do you have a source for this?
My memory says they get boat raced when up against teams like Bama or Ohio St when they’re at full power.

I half agree with Corch. Coaches don’t use Auburn as spring boards. Once they’re in, they’re in. Doesn’t mean coaches want to come to Auburn. We nearly got Steele last year.

Chip Lindsey got fired by Troy today btw

Not Dell for OC. For assistant head coach. Would have to get a QB/OC for the OC spot.
Yes Raymond will be high sought after that’s why I laid a big chunk of change out there for him. He may not be a play caller but maybe a co-DC title to help learn to make game plans helps him for the future. There’s ways to make the same position coach seems more attractive by money or title.
Plus Coach Garner has plenty of contacts in the coaching business I have zero doubts he could put together a staff

Hate that for Chip. Haven’t spoken to him but a couple times since he left AU but was way to quick of a move to head coach for him. He will land somewhere because he does have a good offensive system if you like the Air Raid.

And again how many players do we lose after this season. 6-7? 10? 15?
I’ve heard some expect between 10-15 to exit. That’s players with eligibility left outside of extra Covid year.

Been thinking about it and it’s time to get the band back together. Let’s bring Luper and Trooper back to the plains.

Lol. Not sure Luper is available and is Trooper even coaching now? I think Luper is back at UNC but not positive.

If you're talking Bama, they were 9-0 and ranked #4 in the AP in November of 2005, just 13 months before he was hired there. Hardly what I'd call 'broken'.
And in his debut season they were 6-2 and ranked #17 going into November. Then they lost their last 4 regular season games to finish 6-6. Seems strangely familiar for some reason...
Now if you meant LSU you might have a point.

For anyone that thinks I’ve lost my marbles. Let me put it in perspective for you. Missouri has 10 players committed ranked higher then our highest rated player.
2 of the Big 6 have fired their coach and still ranked higher then us in recruiting. UT and USCe has first year coaches and have higher rated classes.
Kirby is a dumbass but he knows the game. “You can’t out coach recruiting”

Yeah, back in September I wasn't that concerned. Even at the end of October I figured we were in decent shape. Now, not so much.
And all this talk about firing both coordinators - whatever happened to 'recruiting is all about building relationships'? How can you build relationships when you dismiss a third of your staff before your first ESD?
