Yep it’s RIDICULOUS

Again, I ask:

Why does Auburn seem to be the pinnacle for head coaches? Just think back to all the head coaches that flamed out and took other gigs. Jury still out on Gus @ UCF but we will see….

If Gus got the same play from Bo this season as Harsin did we are setting at 8-3 at worst right now.

But I’m not sure Gus develops Bo to where he is today that’s the only issue with the if and buts…

It’s pathetic more than sad. I don’t expect much more from them.

I don’t owe you a statement.

You’re a joke and I laugh at jokes.

Not even sure how one could consider this to even be a possibility?

Because Auburn is a pinnacle job. Not only are we the 13th in wins we are top 10ish the last 30 years. Market value is top 10 and fan interest is top 5. TV market Bama lsu Ohio state Georgia and Norte Dame are our only competitors.

As far as hiring coaches that are winning at other schools…

Bama LSU aTm and Georgia on your schedule every year. It’s generally the toughest schedule in the country year over year

I’m to the point where I want a staff full of recruiters. Football is shifting to whoever can win on the recruiting trail and in the transfer portal.

There are of course some coaches out there that will out scheme you but I think the quickest way back to the top is top recruiting classes

Why not copy the entire quote instead of cherry picking

You just made my point. If they are decent to good coaches, they would do well at other stops after Auburn.

So, HOPEFULLY, the other side is true as well. You are what your record says you are and Harsin had a fantastic record when hired.

Nick Saban had a good to average record when LSU hired him. His first season at Bama was VERY average.

Again, we STILL don’t know what we have YET

Saban brought in the top class in the country. We are sitting at 33 about 20-25 spots off our normal recruiting

Yes, star ratings and recruiting are important but CAN BE overrated.

Case in point: explain Wisconsin to me. ALWAYS good and consistent no matter WHO the head coach is and their recruiting is very average every single year

Wisky is capable of beating ANYONE in the country. Every. Single. Year

They run a different offense from everyone else on their schedule most defenses are built to stop “spread” teams and when you only have 1 week to prepare for Wisconsin it’s tough to move to a bear front to stop it. They also don’t recruit as bad as some want to make it our. They generally fall somewhere around 5th and when they have those rose bowl type seasons is when a PSU or Michigan typically have just shite the bed

Auburn was in the top 10 recruiting every year Gus was coach except two and those were 12 & 11th. It takes a combination of recruiting and coaching them up. You can’t have just one.

We saw under Gus what the lack of player development does with above average recruiting. Not much in ways of consistency. He brought in much of the same other than TWill who was pretty good IMO at both for his position group.

He took over Alabama after it had been on probation for half a decade. Not the same thing.

I will agree with you and jump on your bandwagon if you think Harsin is going to do with Auburn what Saban did to Bama starting on year 2

You in for that?

I didnt think so.

At least when you are bringing in talent, the chance is there for a good year. When you are bringing in scrubs and trying to coach them up, you are always in a uphill battle
