Analysis of Gus as a passing coach

The data shows that Gus is not going to win a ton of awards as a passing-focused coach per info below that I pulled directly from recent AL.com article. And yes, because i'm an SEC homer and don't believe Tulsa or Arky St. are about sh&t...I left those years off.
What you'll see is that 4 out the 7 years that Gus has been in the SEC, his offenses were not in the top 100 in the country in passing. His best passing team ever was Chris Todd year at #56.
The Gus system only really works with a legit dual-threat QB.

One of these years was with the 2nd most prolific DT QB in AU history.
Why so little difference?

Both of those teams had RBs (Ben Tate and CAP) that went on to the NFL.

I'm no Gus defender right now, but it's hard to ignore what he did at Tulsa too, even though it wasn't the SEC.
But honestly I don't give a frick what he does as long as it works. That 2013 ground game was amazing.

Should have passed more in 2006, 2010, 2013, and 2014.
I hate being able to run the ball so well.

The truth of the matter is the teams that win championships stop the run and run it almost unstoppably themselves. You need a passing game to keep opponent honest but championships are won and lost on the ground. It's why even tho bama can be burned deep they win because they stop the run and pound you when they have the ball. We just need a threat of a passing game not an elite one

im not sure what your definition of "analysis" is, but leaving out data to meet your theory is not in mine.
that said, chris todd couldn't run for shite and that season look awfully similar to Cam's and Marshall's seasons. if you look at his time at tulsa i think you will find this theory is not very solid.
THAT SAID, im fine having a good DT qb.
whoever made the comment about running the ball and stopping the run is exactly right. the 2010 defense is a prime example of that.

Sorry man...but I don't see Tulsa being anything similar to the SEC.
Gus has been in charge of an offense in the SEC for 7 years which is more than enough data to draw conclusions.
My conclusions are:
1. Gus' system is wonderful with a dual-threat QB
2. Gus flopped trying to force Jeremy Johnson into pass-first QB. Sean White wasn't a ton better.
3. Time to get a dual-threat QB back in Auburn. Hopefully Woody B or someone else is that answer.
