Can anyone provide concrete evidence that the Auburn athletic program, as a whole, has IMPROVED under Allen Greene?

It hasn't. Gus will be his first test.

What’s he supposed to do with Gus?

Inherited this contract that hurts Auburn if he keeps Gus or fired him.

He had plenty of money and support to rid the Auburn program of Malzahn after 2018 and even 2019.

He didn't.

Greene owns Gus lock-stock-and-barrel. To even blame it on anybody else at this point is idiocy.

I’m not happy with Gus either but that buyout makes him very hard to fire. I think that deserves to be stated

Even tougher now with what the budget is going to look like because it Covid. It’s about as hard of a spot as you can be in

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many rich MF'ers involved with this program to play the "Woe is me, I'm so poor!" card.

The buyout isn’t an excuse... the $ is there... pull the trigger or accept the mediocrity...

We keep saying the buyout isn’t an excuse but that seems to be the only reason to keep him.

I’m happy to play the baller card but it’s hard to believe we have it until I see it

Jones, I’ve been in business many years and know some of the players. The types that are tapped to put up the pony for AU coaching contracts know that the coin has to be sitting there for the buyout at the point that contract is inked.

The money is there. I have a buddy who sits in a box with some of “the money” and they were ready to pay the buy out after the Tennessee loss in 2018 but Greene was new and wouldn’t make the move.

The only thing Greene has done that’s readily apparent to the average fan( not talking budget) is his backing of Bruce.

I’d like to believe it but we’ve had to publicly campaign for a football only facility and Malzahn is here. The stadium needs a ton of help. Just doesn’t scream that we’re rolling in dough

He’s inherited a mess in football and women’s basketball. I’d say it clear that he made the wrong decision to extend Flo. He backed Bruce (and extended?) and extended Butch during a time when Butch could’ve gone anywhere he wanted.

His biggest test is Gus at this point. I think beatbammer is correct in that his decision on Gus will be his legacy

A but unfair to blame Greene for Gus but not give him credit for extending Bruce.

I’m piecing this together now. You’re the guy that got suuuuuper butthurt about the board dogging JJ. This makes much more sense now

That is true.but he didn’t capitulate to the investigation or the media that was calling for him to be fired. But if you really want to go there Jay pushed Person on Bruce. That is what we have read here and must be true.

“Must be true”... kidding but you get my point

So I'm sure you can quote me, specifically and in detail, how JJ's replacement has improved the Auburn program from top to bottom, right?

Alabama needed upgrades to the facilities for a long time. They hire Saban, get some excitement in the program, and boom. Upgrades all over the place. People don’t want to invest in a football program led by bitch tits Gus.

Can’t believe I forgot that was you

Have at it, man. I’m not an Allen Greene defender. Don’t know the guy, don’t care. Enjoy your thread
