Alabama HS football season long thread. ASWA preseason poll released

Will post the rankings when they come out. I'll be at Dora - Cordova nxt Saturday night. If y'all aren't familiar with that rivalry it's one of the top 5 oldest in the state. From what I've heard there excepting a few thousand there.

I’m in the Birmingham metro but no ties to any schools. Hope to see some games this fall though

Rig any Thompson game you can watch should be loaded with talent. Any area game for them except Tuscaloosa County should be good.
We have anyone in the Huntsville area that gets to watch any of the big teams up there?
I know E if he comes back pays attention to the Montgomery and Auburn area.
I keep up with most programs from Anniston to Hueytown, from Hayden to Shelby County.

I plan to see Thompson a few times. Same with Hewitt Trussville. We’ll see if I can catch one against Hoover.

We're going to be at every Trussville game since my daughter is in the Colorguard.
Got really lucky on the schedule. 5 of the first 6 games are at home since the Saraland game was switched. That would have been a loooong trip.

Ben thankfully HT got moved a couple years ago to the “bham area and Tuscaloosa” region. They were in the north region so area games had to travel to buckhorn, James Clemons, Huntsville, etc. those sucked.

Anyone that gets to catch any of Spain Park games I would be interested in hearing how Jackson Boler is doing. He’s probably 1 of the top 3 interior linemen in the state this year. Camped this summer at AU Bama and Ole Miss. Plus like I think I’ve mentioned before his mom is a smoke show. And his aunt is fire and if you are into motor boating she’d be a dream lol.

Oh I know. Vivid memories of the poor stadium announcers up in Huntsville trying and failing to get Iggy's name right lol.
Hated being in that region. I mean going 10 and 0 was cool and all but we were always woefully prepared come playoff time because no one up there presented a real test.

The AHSAA really did a bad job with the schedule after covid Dora only has three home games and have to play seven away. A lot of schedules are really messed up this year.

Some week one games to watch
Guntersville - Handley top 5 game between 5A & 4A schools
#1 Mars Hill Bible will play 5A Jasper. Even a down year Jasper team beat MHB pretty easy last season
Madison Academy - Briarwood not sure why there so much Madison Academy hype they were pretty average last year.

Didn't know you went to Prattville too. C/O 09 here.
Caleb Ross left for Troy U last year and we hired JB Wallace from Maurbury. He wasn't great as our DC in '18 and Maurbury has been meh under him. I'm not looking forward to the next few years.

Sux not seeing any blount county teams in there but its not surprising. Oneonta is the only team thats ever any good and they have swapped coaches quite a bit recently. They havent really been any good since the kids who played under Josh Niblett graduated
