I believe they are bringing him in to compete and if they believe he wins the job he plays

He is being brought in to compete as a backup. Every QB they recruit will be told that they can "compete for the starting job". I'm sure they told Deuce Knight that he might start as well, even though he absolutely wont.

The whole point is that happens if your #1 guy ends up suffering a season ending injury in ~week 4, are you OK with Walker White - who has zero experience - playing out the rest of the season in Freeze's do-or-die year?
Daniels has starting experience and is a good athlete who can run. In the case of emergency, you can at least envision potentially saving the season with him. Walker White is a complete unknown. Nothing against the kid, but he did not look even close to ready in his garbage time appearance late in the season. He spent all season as the #4 QB on the depth chart.
Deuce Knight shouldn't be an option at all. Your backup QB can't be a super-raw developmental True Freshman.

White is capable as a backup and we are already paying him. Buying a backup that thinks he's coming as QB1 is going to take alot money for a just in case situation and take away from buying a real QB1.

White has done literally nothing to quantify this statement. This is nothing but you talking out of your arse. He came into mop-up duty against a cupcake opponent and: fumbled the ball away, threw one pass right into a defender's hands (dropped), threw one ball ~3 feet over a receiver's head, and pulled the ball on at least 2 option runs that clearly should have been given to the RB. His QB Rating in that game was 0.5. No, that isn't a typo.
There is a very real possibility that Walker White is just a straight up bust. No offense to the kid, but you can't rely on what-if nonsense to build your roster.
I always love when fans make these matter-of-fact statements about players that they literally never see play, or practice. The fact that Freeze is considering bringing the Stanford QB in as the backup should tell you all you need to know about how confident he is in Walker White being ready to be the backup. Freeze is the one who sees him every single day in practice. He's the one coaching for his job, not you.

That isn't me reading anyone's mind. Jackson Arnold is already confirmed to be visiting this week. There are almost certainly others being talked to behind the scenes as well (that haven't even entered the Portal).
If they sign Arnold and Daniels, it is going to be Arnold starting. They are CLEARLY bringing in two Portal QB's in order to fill out 4 scholarship QB's on the roster. You are the only person on the planet who seems think that Daniels would be the #1 guy.

If he’s on campus isn’t that tampering? I mean….i know it happens but this would seem a little extreme.
And he has 3 years left so are we just never going to see White or Deuce?
