I hear things like he is a good defensive mind, he has an innovative game, etc, etc you just described coordinators.
You think Bobby Flay cooked that meal you ate at his restaurant? You think Saban wrote those NIL checks?
You need someone who can stroke boosters and recruit. You will then have a waiting list a mile long for coordinators who can "crack the eggs" to make the omelette.
Now look at your list again, will this person make boosters, who have already forked out 140 million for a barber shop, a recording studio, and two coaches, peel off millions more for NIL because they have faith in the coach? Will this person make it exciting to be recruited by Auburn?
I think only two fit that criteria and its Prime or Kiffin.
And for those that say "Prime does not have the experience" thank goodness you werent around when we decided to land on the moon....we didnt have much experience at that either....but thats where the program is going

As much as I don't like the new world we are living in I think, for a place like Auburn and the current state of our program, you are 100% correct.

And that’s America’s blackest eye yet.

Steve Jobs also wasn't a brilliant engineer... he worked with brilliant engineers who executed his ideas, then marketed the hell out of their product.
Imagine how much faster we could have been to the moon with Ali as CEO of the Apollo program.

Using this logic of recruiting and glad-handing with the PTB, go get Bo. What a catch. Recruits would flock! PTBers would have to change their Depends at the announcement. Coordinators would lick their lips at the prospect of working for the Legend.
Kiffin is the obvious choice for all reasons. He can COACH, recruit, he will provide the Splash needed, and, maybe, he can have a mutual tolerance with PTBers. Handles NIL/Portal well, even with limited funds.
Prime is SPLASH. He can recruit, he will get a pass for several years from the PTBers, yet he hasn't shown he can coach at G-5 level and gather a staff.
Freeze does have the credentials, but is certainly not a splash, maybe a large ripple. Has handed NIL/Portal okay.
This is why I have the pecking order as Kiffin, Freeze, Sanders.

Can't argue with that.

I think a better analogy would be that some want to put a person in charge of NASA in the ring with Ali...or Saban...or..Smart

Muhammad Ali wasn't an engineer.
