Gus got caught up in star rankings and we know how that can pan out, Byron Cowart says hi. You have to develop your player and SEE through the 5 star rankings, Bo Nix says hi also.

We brought plenty of WR talent in.

It will be interesting to see things change for this position group.

Understanding how to adjust a route presnap based on defensive alignment or if you recognize a blitz is very different than smash concept, bubbles and 4 verticals.

I like that the players will learn how the play can be adjusted based on man free, zero, quarters, Tampa 2, 3 deep, etc and so forth.

All that said, having high quality linemen will determine our ceiling and whether we can sustain it. We need the Steve Wallaces, the Ed Kings, Rockers, Takeo Spikes, etc

Every SEC Program in the nation recruited and offered Cowart. And every single one of them would have taken him and been just as happy as we were, maybe more

I guess they are are dumbasses too

Like I said. Come up with a original thought man. You are disappointing me. I know you are a troll. You are just not a very good one. And certainly not a smart one.

Players dont work out. And cowart was the highest rated player to be recruited in Auburn history. Who in their right mind would have thought he would turn out the way he did. Nobody. Same for Kyle Davis, and others. It happens. To us and every team out there. You just keep recruiting them and the numbers are what will save you

I totally agree. But the first thing the WR has to do is catch the ball

We are still not doing that

We can worry about route trees, zones and what not later. Just catch the damn ball please

Absolutely!!

At least our TEs seem to have good hands.

I told a friend not to worry about Covid anymore.

He said why?

I said “just self-identify as an Auburn wide receiver and you won’t catch anything.”

Gonna fill ya in on a little secret: The “old way” of doing things is over. The dirty little recruiting network is gone. Rodney Garner is a notorious dirty recruiter throughout the SEC. The GOBN lost power at Auburn and it really is a fresh, CLEAN start and a TOTAL rebuild on the recruiting front. Full stop.

This is the dumbest take ever on the Auburn board. Coach G, killed it at AU, at Ut, at UGA, back at AU, and will kill it again at UT. Garner is probably the best DL recruiter in the nation. It’s crazy the amount of talent he brings to his teams. Has nothing to do with a supposedly “good ol boy network”. That’s been gone since tubbs told them to shove it. Obviously there are power people behind the scenes but it’s their money they can call the shots we wouldn’t be who we are without their help.

So Garner is just dirty at AU or everywhere or you just spewing shite out your mouth?

Not sure what you are so defensive about. I never said Coach G wasn’t a solid recruiter. There is nothing that I posted there that is not 100% true. Pat Dye and Milton McGregor have passed on. God rest their soul. A very close friend of mine, represented by Pat Dye Jr. (I will let you figure out the name) made it to the NFL and was heavily recruited by RG as were several of his friends and I will just leave it at that. There is absolutely nothing to get so defensive about. Auburn will be just fine without the GOBN.

You didn't address what I stated. You called Coach G dirty? Was he only dirty at Auburn or has he been dirty every where he's been? It's been the same results every where.

So throwing shade at Coach G or Pat Dye or Milton is stupid and you have no clue what you are even talking about. Never heard the name of Milton McGregor even associated with Auburn until he had some legal problems going on at the same time Cam was at AU. McGregor isn't some behind the scenes money man at AU and has never been.

So stop with the nonsense takes about something you don't have a clue about.

In this day and age, there are no secrets.

I think the players made out better in the 1980s until NIL.

Let’s see where NIL gets us. I think we will do what needs to be done to compete for championships.

I have no idea how or what we should do for NIL, but it should be comprehensive and professional.

What you dont understand is, there is always a GOBN. And there always will be. We may have gotten rid of the old good ole boy network but we just replaced it with a new one

Every single program has one. Ours was just more exposed in the past

I dont know how old you are Huss but in life, there is always someone behind the scenes pulling the strings baw. And there always will be

And lets hope for the sake of the program that there is someone back there with deep pockets because it is the ONLY way we will ever be able to compete in recruiting.

Tim Cook must not be a football fanatic, or we’d have the #1 class right now. And all the recruits would be walking around with not yet released iPhone 14s, paying for everything with their endless supply of Apple Pay.

Im going to bet that it is not very important to him. Other than donating money like a lot of rich alums do, we have not heard of him getting involved. The NIL would be a great way for him to help.

I just dont see him doing that.

Would be nice though

This is an Auburn board. We are discussing Auburn, not other teams. Again, why so defensive?

I mean, if you want to discuss RG at other teams I would gladly oblige. Post it on tRant. But I am certainly not here to be divisive. I have my reasons why I love Auburn, even though it is not my alma mater. I have a ton of friends and family that went there and I absolutely love evrything Auburn is and stands for.

Bottom line: it is a NEW day on the Plains and WE should have all the confidence in the world with this new regime

Not defensive. And I don't care what friends are family you have. What you are spewing is trash. Take however you want but you have still failed to answer the basic questions off your original take.

You are posting on this board why do we need to continue on the Rant? Troll much?

I'm not an alum of Auburn University either. I'm a sidewalk fan. But been a fan since I as a young child. I graduated from the University of Montevallo. So trust me on this I've been around and associated with any non alum about as much as can be expected. I've had personal relationships with coaches on the staff.

On top of that if you are a fan of another school why are you posting here. As far as school I can claim I love a lot schools and I do, but I'm a fanatic of Auburn University.

I don't think anyone has said that they don't have confidence in the new staff but we don't have blind faith. And if we aren't discussing the good and the bad of what is on the field why have a board.

So if no one else has let me be the first to say GTFO of here.

Again, DEFENSIVE MUCH?!?!?

Lay the sword down and step back from the ledge.

Auburn will be just fine and that’s what WE WANT, right?
