I don’t know how any Auburn fan can say something like this after our string of QBs, who were also said to be the “real deal”

The thing that frustrates me about the negative QB take is people seem to be counting how much failure Auburn has had at QB BEFORE Freeze's arrival. Like we're cursed and it wasn't a System issue and lack of talent that doomed the other guys (back then). Bama, LSU, and Georgia had more talent so they kicked our asses, BUT if we have comparable or better talent we can beat them. It's that simple. Criticize freeze about Peyton all you like, he earned that, but I'm not going to act like Walker White, Hank, or whoever we sign can't win before they show us they can't. I also won't sunshine pump.

Folks get too emotional about QBs. Need to get the best one we can each class. Need two every few classes

I really want to believe that. He is a big kid and looks like he can play

But the fact that he is not schedule to play and Throne is, does not make me confident.

Possibly. But lets face it. It is the most important position on the team. By far

So, it matters. And it should be a major priority. And it hasnt seemed like it for a while

A true freshman against a senior with 3 years experience? That’s not very crazy.

When did any of our coaches treat it like it wasn't a major priority? Maybe you could argue that Gus was awful at development sure, but you can't argue that he didn't (prioritize) landing good talent. His system was outdated and not good for the development of QBs as they transition into the NFL. The Patriots said they never had dealt with a QB more poorly prepared for the league than our boy stidham. Quotes like that don't make 5* talent want to commit. We all understand the importance of the QB position, but (some) folks are being irrational because of PAST trauma and that's not logical when the guy responsible is gone. Lolol

I am getting lost into the argument but Jville is right we can go ahead and pay up for a QB. We will have to break in a new QB next year after all

Last year did not inspire confidence in QB situation and the starter is going to be the same as last year, albeit with improved talent around him.

This is a perfect response for my quote if I hadn’t also said this:

Gotta get the best one we can. Need two every few years

No offense to Johnny but he’s putting up too much text. Send OL’ baw Hugh a letter maybe

White seems fine but he’s not a can’t miss prospect. Gotta have guys like him every year. Any debate over that is silly in my opinion.

I think we get a QB this class

Yep.

I am hopeful for White, but the days of weak competition has to be behind us.

That's all I'm saying. It's just frustrating to see people act like change hasn't taken place. Folks are acting like Gus is still calling plays.

I will agree Harsin and Gus didn't seem to make QB a priority. We weren't getting a better transfer QB with our roster when Freeze got Thorne, and breaking the bank on a top QB year 1 would have been a terrible idea. We had nobody to block for him, or catch the ball. Then that QB flops, and we struggle to land the next one.

To say Freeze hasn't made it a priority is short sighted at best. He got White, to panic because a true freshman hasn't beaten out a very experienced college QB in JUNE seems crazy. He hasn't stopped pushing for JuJu despite him being committed to Lincoln Riley of all people, has him on campus now too. Then we have a solid back up plan with the kid committed to Texas.

Rome wasn't built in a day fellas. Don't underestimate how depleted our roster really was when he got hired, then look at who.we got last cycle, and who's strongly considering us now

Walker White was also at the top of this staffs board. Gus and Harsin (rarely) got their top choice outside of Bo or kiehl Frazier.
