As previously stated. I am totally against NIL for “amateur” athletes. But if we are to compete to sign Top 5 classes our collective has to step up and I’m not talking about On to Victory the organization I’m talking the crowd funded portion. We have a good collective because of big donors. Our small donor collective is pathetic. That’s just the facts.

Granted there hasn’t been a lot to get the casual fan on board with some very subpar seasons. But the time to strike is now and our normal fans aren’t contributing. This is no knock on anyone that does or doesn’t contribute but if you want to battle with the big dogs you better put your money where your mouth is.

Rant off

We weren’t done recruiting OTs even with Carde on board. Him being committed or not committed makes no difference. Losing a guy who could be a 3ish year starter is big loss regardless if we get someone better. What if that someone better gets injured? Transfers out? Then we are back to subpar backups and depth

We already have a 4* OT for 2026 too. We get another good OT for 2025 and we will be fine. These aren't the old days of recruiting 4 OTs per decade

No one is going to succeed in this stupid new game on the backs of “small donors”. Auburn, like many other teams, killed that world when they priced fans out of games with overpriced tickets, things like Tigers Unlimited, killing tailgating and the like. They made it a TV market and small donors are going to be sparse as a result. We are what our richest boosters will spend and that will be a rough reality for a lot of programs.

You have hit the nail on the head. I spent over $600 to take my family to an Auburn game last season. We had average seats, kids each got an Auburn sweatshirt, and we were treated to a completely effortless shite show ending with us getting boat raced by fricking NMSU. Feels like they give a minimum shite about the piss on fans and we react accordingly.

Yeah, it's a day we will never forget. After that display I consider the money I dropped my NIL contribution for the next handful of years.

What is hilarious is I choose those kinds of games to ensure I can indoctrinate my kids into Auburn fans. If you cant depend on a NMSU game to help brainwash your kids into Auburn fans then you might as well let your kids choose their own team.

Yeah me too. My 9 year old asked me if Auburn was that bad when I went to school there. My 13 year old said it was "literally depressing" and asked how she's supposed to wear her new "slay" Auburn sweatshirt to school now and be around her friends who are Georgia fans

Omg. Slay.

My 10 year old says that word all the time. Pretty sure Merriam Webster died during the pandemic and temu filler words were invented.

I'm turning into Chex and I'm only 34. Get off my lawn.

My high school years were so great with Tuberville. This is actually a good question.

It was a good question, and one I had no answer for.

I hear the word "preppy" alot too, and get asked not to be "cringe" when her friends are around.

Do you get daily updates about Tay Tay yet? Hear all about Stanley cups, lulu, Kendra Scott, and On Cloud shoes yet?

What is the reason Stanley cups are more popular than Yeti? I still buy yeti and am in disbelief that Stanley is suddenly better.

Very soon Universities will be able to sign athletes to 2-3-4 year deals. This crazy NIL stuff will be more organized when the Auburn can just pay people directly. We all knew and were told that Carde Smith was pretty open still the day he committed. Why are we now acting like the sky is falling?

We live in an era where people make pilgrimages to buy brisket at oversized gas stations. I had hoped that a bizarre future might be full of more interesting things than attention whoring over a giant coffee mug, but nevertheless, here we are.

I don’t think the world is ending, but we need to get back on the uptick. Auburn doesn’t have the luxury right now of having a slow month or two.
