I’m not sure why people expect a winning season to change much in regards to recruiting, do they think 50% of our class will be flips from actual top programs?
50% of our class is going to be flips from South Alabama.

You know things are bad when my posts in the recruiting thread are getting upvoted.

Well the board has been plaqued by a straight troll job and Jones and the rest of the board allowed it on multiple threads. Your negativity is a breath of fresh air compared to “Harsin is about to win a natty,” “OL is our best position.” Anything that includes fricking Utah.

Go troll another board dude. It’s fricking July and your schtick dominating every thread is getting fricking stale. Show me why the OL is our best position. The OL graded “below average” last year. Can you have a real conversation at all?

Big Cat is turning into a junior day for a staff that more than likely won’t be here next year

Hell I said this to trolls for years in this thread and all I got were jokes about keeping the thread on track. I relax the thread rules here for half a year and now Janga is turning into circa 2019 Jones

What I can’t figure out is why July is a dead period. Part of the BCW problem is that June is shitpacked because it’s the only summer month every program has to work with.

High school football practice starts in July that’s the only reason I can think of.

Dukes posted a new scoops so here's a rundown:
Tyler Johnson a 6'7 300 lb 3* OL from Natchitoches, Louisiana is a name to track. He was scheduled to commit on the 15th with Baylor as the frontrunner, but he's postponed it as Auburn has started to recruit him hard.
Joshua Horton is leaning towards visiting Florida and Jelani Thurman is leaning towards visiting Michigan State during BCW. Auburn is pushing for both to visit, but neither have committed to coming as of now.
If Auburn were to miss on Thurman they'd start targeting 3* Miami commits Jackson Carver and Reid Mikeska. Both are in the 6'6 220-230 lb range and are easy movers. Mikeska is the better blocker and Carver the better route runner. Auburn would have major traction with either if they chose to pursue.
Auburn plans to continue to recruit Karmello English as if he's uncommitted until signing day. They have another prospect they're looking at but Dukes was told to not name them but as soon as he's given clearance he will. He's a big bodied, highly ranked, recruit who's currently uncommitted and is giving Auburn traction. He isn't expected to visit for BCW, but plans to OV for the Penn State game.
Oklahoma trending for Lewis Carter but still likes Auburn and has a great relationship with C Rob who is the only reason he's still considering Auburn. Oklahoma has done the best job recruiting those around him including DC Ted Roof and HC Brent Venables.
Auburn can make up ground by following Robinson's lead, recruiting the Carter's as a family and as Auburn's NIL begins to get active you could see Auburn level the playing field.
Dukes source said they thought Auburn was Carter's best OV and Coach Cadillac did a great job teaming up with C Rob. RN it's Oklahoma, Auburn, UCF, UNC, then UF for Carter's services. We'll see if that's still the same after his visits.
Ja'keem Jackson is a CB that Auburn likes a lot, but is similar to Jacorious Hart in terms of frame and skill set, Auburn would love to have both, but another CB Auburn is evaluating is Shelton Lewis from Stockbridge (GA) who recently decommitted from Pitt and is considered a UNC lean, but a little attention from Auburn could change that.
Josh flowers from Baker (AL) is another 2024 QB Auburn is high on.
LBs Marcellius Pulliam from Sandy Creek (GA) and StanQuan Clark from Killian (FL) are the top uncommitted LBs on Auburn's board after Carter, Ausberry, and Picciotti until the board is evaluated again.

On3 reporting that Bo Hughley (OT from Langston Hughes) will be at BCW.

I laughed at this but the reality is that if we actually had 3* kids to pair with the 4* kids committed that we’d have a better ranked class right now.
3* guys are on the way but that weirdly hasn’t been the issue yet. It’s been that we’ve missed on the top tier guys for the 3rd year in a row. Which tends to separate the top and bottom programs more than the star rating

They are just not getting it done. People were disgruntled with getting stomped by Bama and UGA. Our heads will fall off when we drop behind Arky and Ole Miss, who we are recruiting behind.
Posted on 7/8/22 at 11:22 pm to AUCE05
I’m not going to look but think Ole Miss last class sucked if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t say Arkansas is out recruiting us but we are on par with each other same as UK. USCe probably is out recruiting us some. Where we are recruiting gets you about a 3-5 conference record with good X’s and O’s Coaching.

Peter Woods to Clemson. It was one thing when they started beafing us on GA now they afe killing us in AL too. Auburn needs a major change and sooner rather than later
Posted on 7/8/22 at 11:50 pm to CorchJay
The problem with the “we’re recruiting behind USCe, Mississippi schools, Arky” thing this time of year is that it leads casual fans to believe that we prevailed when we finish middle of the road and ahead them again. Been saying it forever now but middle of the road recruiting kills Auburn in the SEC.
And Auburn’s problem isn’t recruiting ranking specifically. It’s classes devoid of top tier talent. We’re headed for 3 years in a row of that

Some of that shite sandwich is self inflicted. Police the board better, mod. You too, Rig.

Peter Woods isn’t the story, IMO. Clemson whooped everyone for that kid and he was never going to Auburn. Vizzina, Crayton, and Terrell are the story. Those are guys Auburn didn’t have to beat UGA and Bama for but ended up at Clemson still. And I’d argue right now that’s a distant problem still when fricking FSU is beating us for kids from Highland Home, Alabama.
