Unlike previous years (especially Gus yrs) where we see nothing out of our WRs other than Sammie Coatesing down the sidelines every 3rd play after two runs, we will actually see them trying to run routes and cut inside to the middle of the field and that will result in some interceptions against elite DBs. But hopefully the WRs will refine their play and get better prepared for the next level which will draw more talent to us.

Our experienced and talented secondary will not be a factor against teams who can destroy our front seven with their running game. So our DLs and LBs will have to step up big time to stop the run to put our DBs in play.

Hard to know what it truly is until like Texas a&m. If we struggle against our first three opponents, then That will be telling for me. Cal is a really bad squad but I could totally see us making things hard on ourselves in that game. If we can start 4-0 then we'll be in great shape for 8-5 or even 9-4.

Also why I can’t predict more than 7-5 this season. 2 games some would put as toss ups have very strong run games in Ole Miss and Arky. Add to that looks like Bama and Georgia will both move to more run balance in offense this season.
If we are weaker in the front 7 we better be chaos masters, strips, TFL, sacks, interceptions and so on.
I see currently against SEC teams a lot of our games being 43-38 type scores one way or the other on which team scores what

But reality is last scrimmage the rush defense sucked, this scrimmage the rush defense sucked, in A-Day when everyone knew the run was coming the rush defense sucked. Last season rush defense sucked.

Ok why were we so bad stopping the run with basically the same players minus a legit pro at edge last year?
Either way don’t give a shite we will see who is correct as the season goes on.
Added edit- will also say Freeze hinting pressers has been concerned. Hasn’t said hey I’m concerned but has mentioned not being able to stop the run and so forth

And same team? WTF are you even talking about? DL has been revamped with transfers. DE is almost completely transfers.
Is rush defense an area of concern? yes. Am I ready to hit the panic button and write them off like you? No. Its not even fricking week 1

I’m not writing anyone off but don’t just see the sunshine and rainbows. I hope they are great.
So you think McCleod, McAllister, Sings are better than Hall and Eku?
Rogers was a huge pickup but is massively over weight.
I like Kite. But also have never been a huge Harris fan he just tries hard and with limited talent that’s all you can ask.
Johnson Will probably provide some depth. But isn’t a game changer.
As I said we will see who was correct at the end of the season. These things seem to always fall my way but you do you rainbow and sunshine dance.

FYI I’m pretty high on the OL. I just haven’t seen anything to give me confidence in the DL. They were bad last year and it’s not like that group got some incredible makeover. Faulk may start and he’s a great prospect, but there’s a reason freshman DL rarely start.

Eku was injured and barely played. Hall was a beast and got drafted. Do i think the transfers are talented and will get drafted? Yeah, i do. McCleod especially. What is your point?
