Landen King is a hybrid of Randy Moss, Kyle Pitts, and Tyreek Hill.

Too bad he has JSS, a hybrid of Gronk and Albert Pujols, vulturing all of his targets.

Good thing he's moved to receiver and Hars is going to revolutionize the game with his patented two ball offense

Is it true the boosters built a Holiday Inn for the players to stay at the night before games? Part of the two ball strategy?

Ike Hilliard did an interview with RIVALS and won’t share most of it. But a few:

quote:

On Omari Kelly, he said the kid is fast and strong.

• On Camden Brown, he said the kid is cut from a different (old-school) cloth, works very hard, plays very hard.

• On Jay Fair, he said the kid was raised right, learns assuredly.

• On Koy Moore: “We‘re all wiser and hardened by life.”

• On Daz Worsham, he likes the kid’s athleticism but really wants to see more consistency catching the football.

• The receivers had a bad yesterday. Lots of drops without any defensive overnight. Just … drops.

• On Landen King: “That tall drink of water, now. It’s a different world for him, learning how to bend your knees and teaching transition within two years, body position relative to the route. We have a learning curve to attack that has very little to do with talent or potential. The ceiling is extremely high.”

I love the learning curve to attack part. That’s what a real WR coach would say.

It's actually a Double(Route)Tree hotel.

The cookies are also a recruiting tool.

8/10 practice

quote:

Just saw five sessions of practice. They took it inside the indoor facility this morning. Here are our thoughts and observations:

First Team Defense

Colby Wooden, Derick Hall, Marcus Harris, Eku Leota, Owen Pappoe, Cam Riley, Jaylin Simpson, Nehemiah Pritchett, Donovan Kaufman, Zion Puckett, Cayden Bridges

Second Team Defense

Marcus Bragg, Jayson Jones, Morris Joseph, Dylan Brooks, Wesley Steiner, DJ James, J.D. Rhym, Jake Levant, A.D Diamond, Craig McDonald, Marquise Gilbert

Defensive Notes

- Kaufman forced a bad pass, got into the backfield extremely fast

- A.D. Diamond had a great pass breakup and interception. Looked extremely solid. "Just flying around out there," as someone would say.

- Joko Willis was working with the EDGEs

- The linebackers were doing tracking drills

- Steiner, Asante, Pappoe and Riley were leading the drills. C-Rob was using them as examples.

Special Teams

- Patton and McPherson were perfect on extra points. McPherson's leg is impressive.

- Punt returners: Jay Fair, Ja'Varrius Johnson, Tar'Varish Dawson, Tank Bigsby, Koy Moore, Keionte Scott and Donovan Kaufman

Music Update

- Master of Puppets, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam

First Team Offense

- Brandon Council, Kameron Stutts, Nick Brahms, Kiian Zierer, Austin Troxell

- T.J. Finley, Tank Bigsby, Malcolm Johnson Jr., Shedrick Jackson, Tar'Varish Dawson, John Samuel Shenker

Second Team Offense

- Brandon Coffey, Jalil Irvin, Avery Jernigan, Alec Jackson, Colby Smith

- Zach Calzada, Jarquez Hunter, Koy Moore, Ja'Varrius Johnson, Camden Brown, Brandon Frazier

- Worsham caught a fade from Calzada and avoided an injury by going out the side door of the facility. A mat was then put up to stop that from happening again.

- Finley hit Omari Kelly on a nice slant

- Malcolm Johnson Jr. had a nice diving catch that he had to come back to

- All the QBs were struggling with touch, throwing the ball too hard. Out of all of them, Finley had the most consistent throws while we were out there.

- Holden Geriner has a quick release and seems to be coming along nicely.

We are set to speak with offensive assistants today at 12:30. More then

Also from Stultz
quote:

We all come together after practice and give notes. It's not just my thoughts, but a total sum. In my humble opinion, in the 25 minutes of viewing, Finley was the most accurate. That's not just from the 10-15 passes you see on video. We're not saying he was amazing, just that he was the most accurate out of the four.

That settle that? Good.

EDIT: And yes, Henry was watching the QBs closely as well along with me and B-Matt.

It becomes more and more clear that Auburn beat writers know zero about football.

A few places in this practice video you can see Calzada wearing a protective sleeve or arm restrictor on his non-throwing arm. I know he's had issues with that arm and it could just be precautionary, but we've seen other practice video without him having that on. If you look carefully in some shots, he also seems to be protecting/stiffening his non-throwing arm when he moves about, effectively splinting it.

Doesn't seem to be 100%.

That, or even last year he only completed 56% of his throws.

Got a long way to go in fall camp. Calzada had to make up almost a year’s worth of experience on Finley. I expect Calzada to start but wouldn’t be shocked if Finley does.

This really is going to be one of the most disappointing seasons we have had since 2012. Good thing we got Auburn basketball and the World Cup coming up soon.
