Just shows how quick things can change and how it only takes one solid player to get you to the next level

Oats is doing a very good job. However, I don’t really look at Auburn through a “How is Bama doing” lens

We have to build through HS recruiting first and foremost, then pull in specialty guys as needed. Have to be long and athletic from every position

There’s a chance it could flip again next year and have Bama looking up at us again like it was last year. Who knows?

I actually care about what Bama does.

I want to beat them every time. I want to have the best coach in the state.

Oats is making a strong case.

Rivalry should be heated af.

Yeah I get that, a lot of people do. Think that’s why the auburn basketball fanbase has become so belligerent this season. But even from that point of view there’s not gonna be another Brandon Miller walking through the door for them, hopefully.

At the moment there isn’t much of an argument. Oats has well surpassed Bruce Pearl.

Now will that flip again in a few years? Maybe so, if Bruce can recruit a complete roster. So far he’s shown he rarely can do that.

Oats is a good coach, but hasn’t he only reached the sweet 16 once?

Oats resume at Bama doesn’t compare to Pearl’s at Auburn.

Details are lost in the context.

Nate took over a decent squad and went to to work in a place with more basketball history and less obstacles.

He also had the portal.

Bruce didn’t have the portal then.

More disappointing seasons like this year….and yeah, Oats is better.

However for now this season can get lost.

It does matter that we beat Nate though. It’s not really fair to our football coaches if we expect them to beat our rivals. Bama literally fired two coaches to catch Bruce. Bruce should feel threatened. And I want the matchup to be heated every time.

Soon to be twice in three years. Bruce has done that once in his 9 years at Auburn.

Thats’s a big underachievement given the caliber of coach he is.

I’m just glad to have a good basketball program. I’m also happy the SEC has stepped it up as a conference. When Bruce got back into the conference and started to turn us around it seems like other conference members was like can’t have a good Auburn, a good Florida, a good Kentucky, average Arkansas and average LSU and that be it. Everyone went out and got good coaches. And some of those good coaches didn’t even last.

It’s crazy to think about that Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, and LSU have all been ahead of UK the last 5-6 years and that’s a good thing. Or not ahead but had higher highs.

Stidham what would make you happy for Bruce to do to satisfy you? I’m genuinely curious what your expectations are as a basketball fan?

1.) Win some tournament games. SEC and NCAA.

2.) Sign better high school players across the board, which he appears to be doing in future classes.

Any Auburn fan happy with the way these last three seasons have played out are justified to be disappointed in how Bruce Pearl has managed the program.

Bama on the cusp of their second SEC tournament title in a 3 year span. Auburn hasn’t won a game in the tournament since 2019.

There was no 2020 tourney, and we won the regular season last year. Sure I want to win tourney games but we were locked in for #2 seed last year regardless of what we did in the SEC. Still got a banner.

I know it’s your Schtick but cherry picking the stats to suit your narrative is extremely tiring.

This year is on Bruce but I don’t think anyone anticipated both Westry and Traore being non existent. The classes for next two years look loaded and we should return everyone except Zep. Just shut the frick up with the Bruce is done crap.

It’s also on that old AU Pez and AD Greene for screwing with Bruce. It hurt! Even with all of that, what coulda/should been with Rife Scoot or Walker having another year.

We are at a historical time for AU basketball and need to enjoy!

I think they’ll lose in the s16 but being a 1 seed will help them get there

What I'm thinking we're gonna get:

9th Seed, Midwest

or

9th Seed, East

My spidey senses tell me the NCAA selection committee screws us somehow
