On the video board at the game it looked to me like it should have either been a 1 & 1 or a shot clock violation. They called a shooting foul. Lol.

In terms of fouls called I thought they called most of the right ones on their end but we weren’t getting calls on our end at all. Broome got hacked multiple times on drives to the basket and green did on an early bucket in the second half that just were ignored

Eh when you’re dealing with a bunch of guys who have been on message boards their whole lives I think we are all old souls. Age doesn’t matter lol

My first Auburn message board was AuburnEagle

Signed up bc I was so hyped about the 2010 recruiting class

Saw posts about "the notorious tigerdroppings, where you're allowed to curse and be rude to others"

Started lurking over here and like the day after signing day 2010, I saw a thread about LSU recruiting Khiel Frazier. Made my first account on here specifically to comment on that thread and say that Khiel was an "Auburn LOOOCCCKKKK"

Damn my penchant for always being right about everything

I found about TD from MSG, thought it as funny so I just lurked

Eventually I made an account and voila, a shite poster was born

was at the game… how close was the shot clock/ foul call that went against us?

Video replay looked like clock expired before shot and before ref blew whistle/raised hand

Apparently they can review the entire play and find the foul themselves

Yeah… to me it looked like the clock expired before he raised his hand… but I’m not sure what the actual rule is.

It was very close and likely determined the outcome.

Apparently if they can determine when the foul happened they will go by that. I agree with what someone else said, Broome 100% fouled him but it should have either been a shot clock violation or a 1 and 1. He was fouled coming down with the rebound and wasn’t close to “shooting”

Yeah, there were only two options there. If they called the foul when he was shooting it was a shot clock violation. If they called it before the shot it wasn't a violation and they should have had a one and one. That call was ridiculous, much like both of Robbins jump ball calls not being fouls.

Our defense on that closing play was horrendous man. Totally unacceptable. Just finally rewatched.

Zep let him get completely downhill before even getting screened. Jaylin was a step late bc of that. Cardwell (who was in for Broome for rim protection reasons) was in his own little world

Zep should be an end of the bench piece at this point, he provides almost nothing. He has been very average defensively and provides nothing on offense. He's by far the worst player from an advanced stats standpoint of those who get regular minutes (and even Traore has a better PER). He has regressed badly this season.

We'd be better off giving Lior and Tre more minutes, or Flanigan at the 2.

It's weird too bc last season being a good defender was Zep's redeeming quality. The announcers couldn't stfu about calling him the honey badger.

Does he just not care anymore? No aspirations or making at least a little money overseas somewhere and done with basketball?

Well, he was a great defender. He also had two other great defensive players with him last season though. When you have great players around average players, the average players seem better. Makes sense right?

Auburn lost two guys who are really good in the NBA.

2!

If I can’t understand why we are bad this this year, then I need to stop complaining why we are bad this year. Re-read

This is the best run in Auburn basketball history. Enjoy a down year, or don’t.

I feel we need to add someone to the assistant team. Developing talent is lacking IMHO. BUT!

Without Bruce you wouldn’t even be here complaining.

It sucks to lose. duh.

Was there last night and it hurt to lose that game because the refs were awful. We also didn’t press on the ball there at the end and it cost us. Our fans were amazing though and I enjoyed the hell out of it. War Eagle!

I think our player development is fine or on par with pretty much any other program. Flanigan and Jaylin are much, much better than they were than when they showed up at auburn. Cardwell is better. None of those three guys were that great when they showed up though. KD and Wen are basically the same as when they showed up. KD Is maybe worse.

KD is much worse. He has steadily declined to the detriment of Auburn.

Yep, KD has been on a downward slant. Wendell has improved defensively, but gotten worse offensively. Flanigan has improved from last year obviously, but still much worse than his sophomore year.

Yeah Flanigan injury was a big deal in his stunted development though

I don’t disagree with you in the sense that those players have gotten better than when they showed up.

But damn man, like they are three and four year players. They are all very inconsistent at best. None will play in the NBA.

Yeah but those guys wouldn't have become NBA players (Flanigan MAYBE if never had the injury, but still doubtful) no matter where they ended up. They have become solid college players which is about all you could ask for with their talent levels. It's amazing Flanigan never could learn to dribble the dang ball but at this point of his college career you just have to assume it's not in the cards for him.

That whole recruiting class just wasn't very talented outside of Okoro.
Okoro was 36th nationally.
Turbo 116th. Total Bust.
Jaylin 120th. Nice college player.
Cambridge 217th. Some of y'all liked him and we do miss the vertical element he brought but he is a much lesser version of Flanigan.
Stretch 291st nationally. Bust.
Allen Flanigan 298th. Nice college player.
