Then you haven't looked hard enough. Bama, LSU, UGA and UF have similar depth issues. In today's transfer climate, you will not keep a talented QB at backup.

Those teams can’t keep talented backups for long, but they’re there. See Bryce Young.

We don’t have a talented backup QB at all.

Bryce Young has been a gump for less than 24 hrs.

So you admit talent keeps cycling through. Bryce is legit too.

That's still better on paper than our 3* commit.

As Jang said. All good teams are going to lose 'good' backups, but then they quickly sign another top level QB or get a transfer like Fields, or Hurt, ...etc to fill that void.

We haven't shown that ability. We got Nix simply bc of his Auburn roots, but now we need to recruit and sign more top level 4 and 5 star QBs to keep our QB backup list legit....

No they are not. I have watched lil Tua live. Mac is on par with Cord. Tua is gone this year more than likely. We have Aaron coming in. We will be fine next season.

With a freshman starting qb, would it not make more sense to sign a development type guy right now... a sure fire RS candidate... then shoot your shot in the next couple cycles?

Outside of your opinion, do you have evidence to dispute it?

So are we debating who can recruit the best QB, who will transfer out, now?

It appears we have ran out of things to debate

You think Cord can throw for 335 and 4 TDs against our defense?

Bama, LSU, UGA, all went this current season with basically nothing great on the roster behind their starter. Clemson has nothing behind Lawrence —just Taisun who will likely never play a meaningful snap.

It’s reality now. Teams are going to have to do that for a season sometimes. Auburn’s turn is next year.

We’re at a point with QBs now where you have to recruit guys that will be backups. 3* guys that aren’t hyped and aren’t going to transfer

There are hundreds of QBs in America that can throw a 12 yard in-route to Waddle that goes for 60... or jeudy.... or Smith, etc.

Yes. It is not realistic to recruit a 4/5* guy and expect him to sit for 3 years.

Not something you can rely on even if it happens from time to time. Gotta get an elite guy about every two years now and pray they pan out or their dad played at Auburn

Luckily, I don’t think McLaughlin is that level of elite that will keep us from getting a better kid in 2022.

Except he also threw dimes including into the EZ for TD. He had 2 bad decisions all game.
