Another guy to watch is Lee Hunter. 4* DT near Mobile

Absolute unit

100% of the 3 crystal ball picks have him to AU.

Landing Brooks, him, VandaGriff and McKistry would be some star power to the class.

Auburn men and women are too good of people! We gotta start forcing our young studlings to accept the contracts/scholarships offered by Auburn, given the opportunity.

5* TE Darnell Washington from Las Vegas will visit Auburn Tuesday. This is his second visit to Auburn. He camped here last June and Auburn offered him a scholarship then.

It's VIP but whatevs....

247Sports analysis from John Garcia Jr.:

Both on and off the field there is a lot to like of Chayil Garnett. Purely on tape, there is a demeanor about this quarterback that screams maturity and poise regardless of situation and it shows up both in his production and consistency. Armed with a smooth, effortless release and fluid motion, Garnett can play accurate football at all three levels and takes care of it in the process. He's fresh off of a breakout 2018 campaign in which he accounted for 18 touchdown passes against just four interceptions (4.5:1 TD-INT ratio) during a 10-win season. As a senior we will be looking for him to take the next step, throwing with more anticipation and touch to emphasize his strengths.

Garnett's sense of calm shows up in person, too, as we saw in late February at The Opening Orlando. Competing in the "A" group with the likes of Power Five quarterback commitments Carson Beck (Georgia), Jeff Sims (Florida State), Garett Greene (West Virginia) and Anthony Richardson (Florida) among others, it wasn't a matter of Garnett holding his own, but the junior often shining above his counterparts as the long (and very windy) day of competition wore on. Less heralded coming into the event, many national onlookers and casual observers continued to wonder 'who is that?' with each tight spiral he spun. Garnett's recruitment would take off thereafter, adding more than half of his 18 verbal scholarship offers since the strong showing, including the Auburn offer.

COMMENTS
A quick scan of the remainder of Garnett's offer list will more than confirm the maturity and intelligence we see in the rising-senior's game, as it is littered with Ivy League options. Not only have the Harvards of the world been in on the Floridian, but even at the Power 5 level Duke, which may have been AU's toughest competition as his recruitment came to a close, jumped in. In speaking to him at various points since Garnett became among the most coveted passers in the Sunshine State, he has been impressive to deal with leading up to one of the biggest decisions a young man has to make.

The final notable point in looking at the new Tiger talent is the element of his game not as much heralded or accounted for, even -- his physicality. Yes he throws one of the best balls in Florida and can push it outside the numbers or down the field on a consistent basis all while processing information at a high level, but Garnett is a physical presence on the field. While he didn't take off and run a lot by design as a junior, there is plenty of legitimate athleticism within his game. He still accounted for four rushing scores and eclipsed 300 yards as a runner in 2018, but make no mistake, he is a true dual threat. With snap quickness and good top-end speed, including a verified 4.7-second laser 40-yard dash time this offseason, he is a threat to do more than extend the play with his legs. At a verified 6-foot-1, 197 pounds, Garnett is also fairly filled out and has the frame to put on more weight to withstand SEC punishment before it's his time on the Plains. Should he make normal progression in his development as both a passer and leader, this pledge could end up being one of the steals of the 2020 class when all is said and done.

QB Chayil Garnett commits to Auburn (247)
quote:

AUBURN, ALABAMA -- Chayil Garnett raved about Auburn after his first visit there, which took place in late March.

“My family loves the school. I love the school. Family is a main part. I really love Auburn," Garnett said. "It’s a family environment. All schools going to say that, but you can really feel it there. All of the coaches come up and ask you how you’re doing. Little things like that just shows how good of a school it is. I really enjoy everything happening on the academic and athletic side.”

Saturday, Garnett announced he would soon become part of the Auburn family.

A 3-star quarterback from Florida's Lake Wales High, he committed to the Tigers during a visit to Auburn for A-Day weekend. The 6-feet-2, 205-pound Garnett is the No. 21 dual-threat quarterback nationally according to 247Sports. He passed for 2,028 yards (completing 61 percent of his attempts) with 18 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in 2018, while adding 336 rushing yards.

"It's just a great opportunity for me," Garnett said Saturday. "I love the family atmosphere here. And I have a great relationship with the coaches -- all the coaches."

Garnett will be an early enrollee.

Garnett chose Auburn over Duke. Among his other notable offers: UCF, which has had great success at quarterback of late, and Harvard. Garnett is an honor student in Polk County, which is just east of Tampa and is known for being one of the most talent-rich areas in Florida.

First-year offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kenny Dillingham spearheaded this recruitment for the Tigers. He zeroed in on Garnett not long after arriving at Auburn in December. The Tigers offered Garnett a scholarship after he visited in March and they quickly shot to the top of his leaderboard.

When did Garnett know he wanted to be a Tiger? Right about the time the offer came.

"I kind of knew then," Garnett said. "It's such a big opportunity. I couldn't pass it up."

Garnett is commitment No. 7 for Auburn, which entered the day with the No. 17 recruiting class in the country.

***QUARTERBACK***

COMMITS: 1 -- Chayil Garnett, Lake Wales (Fla.)

SPOTS LEFT: 0-1 -- This is to be determined. If all four scholarship quarterbacks remain on the roster, there's no need to take another. If someone leaves, Auburn potentially could try to add a second quarterback to the class. Our gut says Auburn probably is done here unless two of the scholarship quarterbacks were to leave.

***RUNNING BACK***

COMMITS: 0

SPOTS LEFT: 1-2 -- After signing two quality backs in the 2019 class, Auburn could live with only taking one for 2020. However, two probably is ideal. For starters, current Auburn back Kam Martin has only one year remaining. Also, you have to prepare for injuries and things of that nature. The more scholarship backs the better. Tank Bigsby and Kobe Pryor of Georgia along with Lawrance Toafili of Florida appear to be Auburn's top targets. The Tigers are in the top two or three right now for each. Bigsby visited earlier this week. Toafili spent three days at Auburn last weekend.
