Sounds like Clemson is gonna be tough to beat but if we get Pappoe that makes things real interesting. My favorite CB in this class so far. Need Steele to give him the Quindarious Monday speech

Not sure he's a take for AU right now but we will see (this is my opinion not anything KN said FYI)

What would it take for Auburn to land wide receiver Ramel Keyton? (SECCountry)
quote:
Whoever lands Ramel Keyton will be picking up a standout wide receiver.
As @naaman_smith indicates, Tennessee or Auburn are the front-runners for that recognition. It has been trending that way for quite some time. Keyton confirmed it himself to multiple reporters at the Under Armour camp in Atlanta over the weekend. He’s likely to make his decision within the next month.
Keyton ranks as the No. 28 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 172 overall prospect in the 2019 class, per the 247Sports composite. Auburn is aiming to land one more wide receiver alongside George Pickens and has its sights set on the top of the recruiting boards. That includes highly ranked prospects such as Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood, Devonta Lee, Dannis Jackson and Jalen Curry.
But Keyton is likely to make his decision much sooner than any of those prospects.
While Keyton may not be ranked as high as some of those other guys, his spring performance — especially his physicality — hasn’t gone unnoticed on the Plains. Keyton has been one of the more prominent receivers at The Opening and Under Armour camps. He’s not afraid to push defensive backs around. It helped him earn an Under Armour All-America Game invite on Sunday.
As his decision approaches, I expect Auburn to make a much more serious push than the initial question might indicate. Keyton is more than good enough to take his commitment sooner rather than later. If there’s a feeling that the receiver number this cycle needs to be capped at two, Keyton would be a great second option with Pickens.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver from Marietta, Ga., has been to Auburn several times in the last year and half. At his junior day visit in February, as he was set to leave, Keyton and his family stayed behind and spoke with linebacker Deshaun Davis about the realities of being an Auburn student-athlete. I’m told that conversation made a major impression on the family.
Tennessee has created most of the recent buzz, however.
Auburn will have a few weeks to bring Keyton back on campus. I expect he’ll be a priority target the next few weeks. That still may not be enough to overcome Tennessee, but Keyton is well worth the try.

Auburn coaches hitting road in force for evaluation period trips (SECCountry)
quote:
Auburn coaches begin evaluation period road trips
New NCAA rules have altered the timeline for coaches hitting the road to see top high school prospects.
Under new rules, Division I coaches weren’t able to visit campuses until last week.
Auburn will put most of its time and resources into the next few weeks as high schools pick up with spring practices — which have been pushed back on the calendar as a direct result of the adjusted recruiting calendar (funny how that works). Despite the addition of a 10th assistant coach, the NCAA will not allow staffs to be on the road more than the days allotted in the past. According to one source, that has been the talk of the coaching circles this spring and is forcing college staffs to take a much more strategic approach to utilizing the evaluation period that runs until May 31.
Auburn sent some coaches out on the road last week and had more on the road Monday afternoon.
Here’s a recap of the last few days of assistant coach recruiting stops. You’ll notice this list doesn’t make mention of many specific recruits, though there are a few. Auburn is using the first weeks or so of this period to take care of larger areas, checking in at schools and talking to high school coaches more than pinpointing specific targets (though there is some of that, too). By next week, expect to see Auburn on the road emphasizing specific prospects as spring practices kick off.
Last Thursday, running backs coach Tim Horton and defensive line coach Rodney Garner became the first two coaches on the road. Horton scoured a large portion of his North Alabama area while he was up in Huntsville as part of the assistant coach speaking tour. Garner went up to North Carolina to see some of the Tigers defensive line targets from that area. Savion Jackson, Joshua Harris and C.J. Clark are the 4-star defensive line prospects in North Carolina.
On Friday, defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson made his first stop in Mississippi, stopping by multiple schools at the high school and junior college level.
Auburn coach went out in nearly full force Monday.
Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and linebackers coach Travis Williams were at speaking engagements Monday, so neither of them used it as a recruiting day. Garner and Woodson will be busy in Mississippi the next three days, so they also weren’t on the road Monday.
Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey visited some of his territory in northwest Alabama. Defensive backs coach Greg Brown went along the east coast of Florida to focus on that area.
The big visits, however, were made by Horton and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes. They made a stop at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., to see running back Noah Cain, one of the top overall targets in the class, as well at the litany of other top prospects at that program. They also went to the Tampa area to stop by a few high schools.
The most notable was Plant, home of top offensive tackle target Will Putnam.

Should Auburn fans get hopes up for 5-star LB Owen Pappoe commitment? (SECCountry)
Cmon Wolk don't lemme down
quote:
Auburn fans can recite the names in their sleep.
Justin Fields. Brenton Cox. Trey Hill. Kearis Jackson. Adam Anderson. Quay Walker. Luke Ford. Channing Tindall.
There are more.
Ryland Goede. Dominick Blaylock. Jadon Haselwood.
Those 11 names are the prospects in the 2018 and 2019 classes who Auburn desperately wanted, but landed with Georgia. In many cases, the Tigers finished as the No. 2 school, an extra yank of the knife.
The ghosts of commitments past have haunted Auburn fans for a few months. They will no doubt remain until Auburn can win another recruiting battle against its border-state rival.
Attention has turned to 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe and his commitment date, May 5.
For many Auburn fans, they’re going through similar emotions as @_RCB3. They want to show excitement about the upcoming decision for Pappoe, but they remember how they felt on double-digit occasions in the last year as Georgia pulled of recruiting wins no one would’ve expected to see. There have been enough disappointments in the last 12 months for Auburn fans to be hesitant about a May commitment.
I get it.
And I wish I could tell you reasons A, B and C why Pappoe will be different. But the reality is: Georgia has been doing something special the last two years of recruiting. That isn’t going to change anytime soon and Pappoe has been a central figure for Kirby Smart and Co. for a long time.
But I do think Auburn should enter the final week of this recruitment with cautious optimism.
Plenty of buzz has been made about his recent three-day trip to the Plains. An equal amount of interest was generated from his mid-week visit to Athens, Ga., last week. In truth, both situations were probably blown out of proportion. At this point, Pappoe has a comprehension of both programs. Any visit he makes won’t sway his decision one way or another.
In fact, talking with one source after the Georgia visit, Auburn remained just as confident in its chances as before Pappoe went to Athens.
This is close. There’s no doubt about it. The fact the Tigers have made this interesting is a win given where this was two months ago (I know most Auburn fans won’t view it that way).
But a week from now, I stand by my belief Pappoe chooses Auburn.

You have a requiring mind! It requires having smart folk such as myself decipher what you need to know, and what you don't!

Makes you wonder what these guys are hearing especially after Pappoe came out last week and killed all the AU hype

He did? I mean I have no doubt that YOU heard it that way, but can you elaborate?

Well considering it's between AU, UCLA, and USC... and UCLA added their top target grad transfer OT yesterday and I don't think he ever visited USC I think our chances are pretty good

Keith just posted "Rock On" & tweeted "eyes" emoji. Guessing Driscoll committed
