Not a huge surprise but Wiltfong just CB'd 5* WR Frank Ladson to CLEM

They could go 3 wide with guys all 6'4" & bigger in 2019 if they get Ladson. Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross & Ladson

The amount of top 100 kids that are actually interested in AU this early in cycle compared to the last 2 is very refreshing. AU obviously isn't going to get all these guys but there are a lot more top end prospects giving AU a real look early. Amazing what winning does...

Plus having a coach that ISN'T recruiting while on the hot seat. Our fans were our own worst enemy when it came to recruiting the past few years. And our rivals used it against us on the trail, big time.

I'm sure they color outside of the line a little, but once you're in the elite elite category like they are right now, the 5* guys are coming without you having to get too dirty anymore. That's where Bama is, Ohio St too.

KN says there's a chance Pappoe & Morris will announce on same day. Says shouldn't read anything into that about who they pick. They are teammates & grew up together. Still think UGA for Pappoe right now & 50/50 AU-TEN for Morris

Yeah, it was not the performance of the coach, the 7-6 and 8-5 season, the whirlybird and the goddamn CoxCat...it was the fans on the internet.

So the #4 OT in the state Jayme Simmons has apparently transferred to Thompson where Amari Kight & a crap ton of other D1 players play

I'm not buying that. Clempson is not in the same category with Bama and Ohio State in prestige. Until recently, they weren't even close to Auburn's prestige.

Prestige? These are 17-18 year old kids. For the entirety of their football careers wherein they actually knew what college football was, Clemson has been a BCS contending team. If you followed recruiting during the Mike Shula days you'd remember that most of the in-state kids were "Auburn fans". Clemson has 7 straight 10+ win seasons; that stems back to when these kids were ~11 years old. That consistency is all that matters. The problem with us by comparison is that none of these kids remember 2010 or 2013 because we go full-potato and turn into a 7-8 win team immediately after.

You need consistency to build that type of recruiting leverage. Auburn is not a consistent program. Clemson HAS been a consistent program.

We're talking about prestige from the perspective of HS kids, not the general public as a whole

Some study came out the other day saying that HS kids voted Clemson as having the best CFB brand recently

Amazing what a handful of years can do for a program.
