Someone here yesterday asked if today was going to be good or bad and I said neither. Mostly because we don’t have a lot of targets that we are in the hunt for that are signing today.

It was really just Derick Hall and DJ Williams and Hall signed. DJ looks probable.

Handy signing later would be great since that was unexpected but he’s been committed for a while. Other than that we’re waiting to see what happens with Putnam tomorrow

Considering where we are with coaching rumors and all it's going pretty well. Considering where it could have been with the way the class started before the dumpster fire season, it's pretty blah.

DJ Williams

Why did he emerge on the recruiting scene so late? - his Jr. year film looked pretty damn good. Did he not go to many camps?

Rusty doesn't think UGA will make a move for Williams if they miss on Sanders

That's cuz he an AU lock

Edit: This is all gonna be my fault when we miss...

Pretty sure he got hurt last year and no he wasn't a guy that visited a lot of camps. Once his senior tape came out everybody jumped on it

Unfortunately, this. Dude could walk on water and some would say he can't swim.

Auburn signee undergoes knee surgery on National Signing Day (247)
quote:

AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn signee Luke Deal is scheduled to undergo knee surgery on the same day he filed his National Letter of Intent to play at Auburn, his family tells Auburn Undercover.

The 3-star tight end tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee earlier this week in what was described as a "freak deal" by one source. The timing couldn't be worse as he's scheduled to undergo surgery on the same day his family is celebrating the next step in his life as a college player on National Signing Day.

Deal's surgery comes just three days following his arrival on the Auburn campus. The class of 2019 recruit arrived on campus Sunday to begin practices at Auburn as a newcomer. He signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Auburn on Wednesday.

Deal caught a pass over two defenders and landed awkwardly on the turf during an Auburn practice this week. It was quickly discovered he had torn an ACL.

"Luke will have a great opportunity to show how a young man can deal with adversity and continue to be strong and courage in all that he does," said Chris Deal, Luke's father.

Deal committed to Auburn on May 25, beating out schools such as Michigan, N.C. State and Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-4, 237-pound prospect was expected to battle immediately for playing time during spring practices, but the injury will keep him on the sidelines until Auburn's preseason camp begins in August.

The Greenwood, South Carolina native played in an all-star game Saturday and arrived at Auburn on Sunday to begin his collegiate career.

Deal was hopeful about the future of the program as the Tigers fell to a 7-5 record during his recruitment in the fall.

"Me and my dad talk about it every time we watch them,” Deal said in the fall. “You see the struggles on the field, but everybody has growing pains. Not everybody understands it, but our class this year understands it, our coaches understand it, and the players there understand it. We’re just a couple of plays away, a couple of improvements away from being a really good football team and from being a contender.

“I feel like that’s what our class this year is really going to bring is a competitive spirit. It’s going to add a couple of pieces to the puzzle and we’re going to be ready to roll next year.”

Auburn's class is currently ranked No. 13 in the nation, though its average rating for players ranks fourth nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. Deal is one of two tight ends to sign with Auburn during the Early Signing Period.

Auburn's final day of on-campus practices before the Music City Bowl is Wednesday. The Tigers report to Nashville to continue preparations for Purdue on Dec. 23. The game kicks off Dec. 28 inside Nissan Stadium at 12:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Early enrollees and signees participating in practices are not eligible to play in the bowl game.

This sucks...

So the 3 guys to watch outside of DJ Williams commitment are Jaren Handy, Jashawn Sheffield & Nehemiah Pritchett. Would be big to get all 3 on board. That would mean Pickens is only commit to not sign early

Worried Sheffield is gonna wait

I don't buy this story. He's a tight end. No way he was even thrown a pass in practice.
