Just got a commit from a preferred walk on named Jonathan Fells. I don't know anything about him yet.
Edit-- beat me to it lol.

MSST mods are implying it was AU that encouraged Gordon to decommit FWIW

Gordon was likely to be a DT?

I liked the white fullback better.

Perhaps we should recruit natural defensive tackles. Derrick Brown worked out well.

Patrick Suddes with his codes tweets making me think we haul in someone unexpected tomorrow.

Gordon is listed as a DE but that guy’s a DT without a doubt.
Also want to point out that we go back and forth on this board about DL recruitment. Prior to this new DT sentiment that’s being shared, the common complaint was not recruiting actual DEs .
We’re always going to under recruit at times on the lines. You just hope it doesn’t turn into major positional droughts like OT currently and DE before that, LB before that, QB before that, and so on. But everyone runs into it. Most schools don’t bring in balanced classes along the OL/DL each year and some of that is literally because these kids still grow so fricking much

Apparently 3* CB DJ James is not signing with MSST early and AU has become a threat according to 247. Some coaches thought he was on the only DB this past week that could hang with Pickens
FWIW I loved this dude's film last spring but AU never really got involved. Would be a hell of a late addition. AU must be expecting some serious DB attrition considering five DBs signing tomorrow (pending Sheffield) & yet still going after Maurice Hampton & now James
Bama convinced him to hold off signing

I’m fine if we embrace processing. There’s definitely fat that can be cut among our DB group

KN thinks AU might have offered James tonight but hasn't been able to confirm

Is tomorrow early signing day?

quote:Which is his fault too. He is & has done the evals for OLs he entire AU HCtenure. JB & Hand have had little to no input on OL evals & who we take on the OL. For example, if it were up to Hand we would have gone after Jalen Goss harder a lot sooner & taken him.
Gus getting fired is gonna be because of sucky OL recruiting
