Is this a melt or a gambling issue bubbling up? I can’t tell.

But how does this kid not see the Oline depth chart, and not want to come and start probably day 1 at Auburn instead of riding the bench somewhere else?

KN has VIP post up on AU targets 3* DE Colby Wooden & 4* CB Zion Puckett's commitment announcements this week.

- Wooden will announce Thursday. Will tell team first around 3:30 CT then tweet his decision. AU still feels really good.

- Puckett doesn't have a set time as high school might show a commit video during halftime of game. AU favorite & KN says he will be at that game

KN says he hasn't spoken yet with AU which is why no Gus boom tweets yet but KN doesn't think it will be a problem. Says Garner REALLY likes this kid

Boom! Tigers land another 2020 commitment (247)
quote:

Auburn's 2020 class got another boost Sunday morning.

Damarjhe Lewis, a defensive tackle from Griffin (Ga.) just recently offered by the Tigers, committed to Gus Malzahn's program. Lewis is the No. 30 defensive tackle nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. He does not yet have a rating from 247Sports.

"First, I'd like to thank God for blessing me with an opportunity to do something I love at the next level," Lewis said in his commitment Tweet. "Also, I'd like to thank my mom, my step-father, my aunt, her husband, my grandma, my coaches and everyone else who helped and supported me over the years. ... I want to say thanks to all the coaches at other schools for recruiting me. ... I'm super excited to make this announcement that I'm committed to Auburn University. Extremely excited to play for Coach Rodney Garner."

According to Lewis, he has yet to inform the Tigers via telephone of his decision. He planned to do that Sunday.

Auburn offered Lewis a scholarship July 28 when he visited the program for the AU BBQ.

The Tigers are off to a great start in the 2020 class as Lewis becomes commitment No. 5. Auburn has the No. 4 recruiting class in the country. The Tigers trail only Miami, Ohio State and Alabama. They have an average-rating-per commit of 92.06. The 4-star line starts at 90.00.

On the commit list, Lewis joins four four-stars --- defensive ends Andy Boykin and Quandarrius Robinson, receiver Kobe Hudson and linebacker Demouy Kennedy. The 2020 recruiting class already is far ahead of the pace the Tigers had with the 2019 class. A year ago at this time, Auburn had only one 2019 commitment -- receiver George Pickens.

When the Tigers offered Lewis, he noted, "I'm excited about. ... Auburn just moved to the top."

That was offer No. 2. Syracuse was his first. At the AU BBQ, Lewis got to spend lots of time with defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who has made him an early priority.

"I love them -- I love Auburn," Lewis said. "I love Coach Garner. He's cool."

For Lewis, that was his second visit to Auburn. The first time there, he attended a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium -- the 2017 Iron Bowl.

"It was good, it was awesome," Lewis said.

Lewis plans to return to Auburn a lot this season.

Of Auburn's five commitments for 2020, three are from Georgia with Hudson being the highest-ranked. For Auburn, Sunday's commitment could -- and should -- be the start of a big recruiting week. A pair of key 2019 targets will announce their decisions in the coming days.

Three-star defensive end Colby Wooden of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer will reveal his choice between Auburn and Clemson on Thursday. A day later, 4-star cornerback Zion Puckett of Griffin (Ga.) Spalding will make his pick. He's down to Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee with the Tigers holding the top spot at last check.
