perhaps
But that's why I picked the 2013 game, because Auburn was so good and even then IMO felt they overcame to best yet another better team from Tuscaloosa. Reasoning that if it was so for them then the gap would be more so for other teams. It doesn't hurt me to feel UAT has better talent; in fact it makes me feel better when they get outplayed by Auburn.
(eta: 2013 is the Gus team all other are measured against)

I disagree. We keep firing coaches. UGA and Bama have had consistency at the HC spot. That really effects recruiting. Locking down Gus will pay off on the trail.
We have had the same number of coaches as UGA since 1982 and less than Bama.
You get head coach consistency by winning consistently. It's not the other way around.

While I agree that winning leads to consistency, your arbitrary selection of 1982 doesn’t mean what you’re implying. Alabama has had Saban since 2007 and UGA had Richt from 2001-2015. We’ve had Tuberville, Chizik, and Malzahn all while Alabama had one coach and UGA had two.

FWIW JLee says Cain & McIntosh are the top 2 RBs on the board & AU is slow-playing other RBs on the board because it doesn't want them right now. AU isn't going to move heavily on others until til Cain & McIntosh tell us no.

To be clear...Auburn hasn't played a single team with a significant talent advantage since Gus became our coach. Any other discussion of it is a waste of time.

2016 Iron Bowl we were 20 point underdogs, and it showed from start to finish.

Probably the best example...even in that game we remained within a score for the better part of the 1st and 2nd half. That was with our injury situation as well.

Injuries happen. Unfortunately for us, it happened at our least talented position. White’s injury hurt because it basically shut down any chance of us being competitive offensively. You’re outright kidding yourself if you thought we had a prayer without SW. The year before, we were almost just as weak against Bama offensively thanks to White being out that year as well. If not for a lucky tipped 77 yard pass for TD, we would’ve been under 180 yards total offense again.

I agree. I guess that is why I said "significantly" as has been pointed out in this thread. Despite our injuries and woes...in 2015 and 2016 we weren't completely out matched in talent. We were behind bama but not outmatched.

I pretty much always choose 1982 because it's when I was born and when Pat Dye changed the culture at Auburn and it provides a significant sample size.
Of course Alabama's situation is stable now they have arguably the best coach of all time but look at the all the turnover between Stallings and Saban it took them to get there.
But again, coaching stability is not our problem. It's pretty in line with most any other major program.

Ohio State - No
Alabama - No
UGA - No
Clemson - No
Oklahoma - No
Plus, none of those coaches were on the hot seat quite like Malzahn the last couple years.

So apparently 2020 WR EJ Williams was getting close to committing to AU. Other staffs got wind and last 2 days Clemson, UGA, and LSU have all offered. AU still leads but he's slowing process down now

It has to do with recruiting, but sure, I'm all for it.
Absolutely nothing has happened today. You're welcome.
