Well, the good thing is that we know who was throwing him the ball to show out.

He still seems too good to be true. I feel inclined by a matured instinct that was born from getting screwed over way too many times to pinch myself when I see his tape and frame.

Unless Pickens gets hurt or is benched this season, how does he not end up a 5*?

maybe Jalen Curry next week
FWIW JLee says he expects Curry to hold off the The AU Recruit Cook Out July 28th so that means he will be in the class next week or not at all.

How did his info make it back into the rotation?
Me since nobody else was posting his info.

I'm sorry but he really lost his credibility a few years back
True but he is the "recruiting reporter" for an AU site so I figured it's worth sharing. If nothing else we can all laugh at & get entertainment from his ineptitude.

Drop some easy passes in games like last season.

Ehhhh. I feel like recruit analysts value camps way more than individual season games these days. If he puts up decent #s even with drops this season, that won’t hurt him.

The 3 sites are not the same. Rivals puts more emphasis on Camps than game work. ESPN & 247 look at both. Also with Geoege's status & Hoover being a national power he will have a good number of recruiting site analysts watching him closely. Drop some easy passes like he did last year it could easily keep him from a 5*.

Dude clearly has good hands... it’s more a concentration thing. Holding that against him seems a little silly.

But then again, recruiting rankings are silly to begin with.

This is true but it is also relative. He will get more attention but there is not as much attention as there was 10 years ago. All Sites are evaluating so many kids, it’s hard to logistically scout them all during the season. Camps are great as all the recruits come to a singular location where you can watch them compete against the best in one sitting

... except this is where our coveted three star's come from. If you're a kid that doesn't make the camps (or an invitation) you don't get hyped up and remain largely unknown. Which is why so many need to cool their jets over some kid not being as highly rated as a nationally known media-hound 4 star.

KN basically said last night he has no idea what DB board looks like & how it shakes out. Here's general thoughts he posted

- Adonis Otey was blown away by AU & probably has the Tigers #1. Has no idea if he's take right now

- Two commits currently but Flott's 50/50 on staying an AU commit right now

- Zion Puckett could play CB or nickel

- Andrew Booth is 50/50 between AU/CLEM with a decision possibly coming soon

- Nehmiah Pritchett is now a top target & a take & probably a future AU commit

- Jashawn Sheffield will probably be an AU commit by Sunday night

KN says there's a real possibility AU has room for Otey if they want him

Cook out could end up being a lot of fun. Curry, possibly Pritchett and maybe even Andrew Booth. Wouldn't be shocked if Colby Wooden decided to pull trigger that weekend. Last year we had 4 commits following that event

I think you and I are talking about the two sides of the same coin. Basic point is camps seem to be main reasoning for rankings these days.

I think there's a chance he gets 5th star before season if he shows out at The Opening. Also will get a chance to perform on national stage to open season on ESPN

If he keeps performing like he has at camps so far this spring, he has a great shot at being a Composite 5*

Any news on the 2018 recruits that aren't on campus? I thought I saw a headline saying 5 are still waiting to get on campus.

It's 4 - Siposs, Schwartz, Miller & Oladele

There was a tweet saw other day that Schwartz went through Camp War Eagle. He's good to go just finishing some high school track events. He's going to Finland to compete in some major competition soon

The plan was always for Siposs to come later due to having to go through more hoops coming from Australia

2 big question marks are Miller & Oladele. Sounds like they are expected to make it but we will see
