4-star QB/ATH Gerry Bohanon made a visit, and it went well. Bohanon said all the schools recruiting him, sans Arkansas, say they want him as a quarterback. An SEC Country source said that Joey Gatewood is still Auburn’s guy at quarterback, but the Tigers have potential interest in a second. Bohanon is an impressive athlete, though. He said he has no attachment to his home state of Arkansas, especially if the Razorbacks stay resistant to the idea of quarterback.

4-star WR Justyn Ross spoke with SEC Country for the second Saturday in a row. There isn’t much new there. National Signing Day is his rough estimate decision date. Auburn and Alabama seem like the front-runners, but he’s willing to visit outside the state when his mom returns. Ross said Alabama signee Markail Benton’s push will have a “little” influence on his final decision.

4-star OL Trey Hill will visit Auburn for A-Day, which will be close to double-digit times the big offensive guard will have been on the Plains. He noted that 2017 is a make-or-break season for Gus Malzahn and staff. He’ll watch that performance closely.

4-star OL Richard Gouraige made a trip to Auburn over the weekend. He liked it so much he’s considering a return for A-Day. If that happens, it would be huge news for the Tigers, but don’t 100 percent count on it. Either way, the Tampa, Fla., area is somewhere Auburn has a strong reputation of late with Nate Craig-Myers and Devan Barrett, so the Tigers hope that trend continues. It’s on a better track than expected.

Auburn and Georgia are the two programs to keep an eye on with 2019’s best tight end Ryland Goede. Goede praised Auburn’s new two-TE approach under Chip Lindsey.

2019 defensive back Jalen Alexander from Grayson (Ga.) visited Auburn. The Tigers were the first to offer, and that will be meaningful as the process continues. Alexander thinks other programs like LSU, Georgia, Florida and others are close to offering.
Really like his film. Plays at GA powerhouse Grayson

4-star DT Alfred Thomas, who looked great at the UA camp, released a top 8 without Auburn. He still wants that offer from the Tigers and said if it comes, Auburn will be able to shift the list. Thomas won’t wait forever, though.

4-star TE Tyneil Hopper enjoyed another visit. He doesn’t seem too committal to anywhere at this point, but the more he visits he takes to Auburn, the more likely it would be for him to end up at the same program as a coach he’s close with, Larry Porter, and his former high school quarterback, Malik Willis.

2019 targets Bo Nix, Pierce Quick and Clay Webb were invited to the Under Armour All-America Future 50 game. Nix, once again, looked like the best quarterback at the camp. Quick and Webb both made the Final 5 among offensive linemen. Quick and Webb are attached at the hip, and it appears likely to be an Auburn-Alabama battle for both. Package deal? Wouldn’t be surprising.
Hope not...

3-star DE Andres Fox continues to say he has no timeline for his decision. He has Auburn, LSU and Alabama as a top 3. An SEC Country source remains confident that Auburn might have the best chance at this time despite Fox growing up an Alabama fan.
Must not get hopes up, must not get hopes up, must not get hopes up....

Auburn leads for No. 4 OLB (Rivals)
quote:
Auburn is now the team to beat for the No. 4 outside linebacker.
Zakoby McClain, a Rivals100 recruit from Valdosta, Ga., visited Auburn on Saturday and left with the Tigers on top.
It was McClain’s first visit to Auburn.
“It went real good, way better than I expected,” McClain said. “I liked meeting the coaches and the players, and I liked the facilities. I liked everything. They made me feel like I was at home.”
McClain lists Auburn ahead of his other favorites: LSU, South Carolina and Oregon. A big reason the Tigers took the lead was linebackers coach Travis Williams.
“I want a father-figure coach, and they have that (in Williams),” McClain said. “Me and him have gotten real close. He’s cool. He’s nice and laid back. He keeps it real with you and doesn’t sugarcoat it.”
McClain already is planning a second visit to Auburn.
“I might come back Saturday for the (A-Day) game,” he said.
McClain hopes to announce his commitment by the end of the summer.
Rivals ranks McClain, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 200 pounds, the No. 9 player in Georgia and No. 68 in the Rivals100.

Auburn 'a top school' for Bohanon (Rivals)
Sounds like Lindsey giving QBs more autonomy
quote:
Gerry Bohanon visited Auburn on Saturday, the Earle (Ark.) dual-threat quarterback’s third visit to the Plains.
Bohanon, his mother and younger brother arrived in Auburn Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday.
“I love it,” Bohanon said. “Auburn is nice. It’s a nice little city somewhat like where I’m from. It’s very family-oriented and I love the campus.”
Bohanon arrived in time to watch the Tigers scrimmage inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“They allowed the quarterbacks to make a lot of decisions on their own,” Bohanon said. “The quarterbacks sat back there and threw it, and also called some zone-reads so they could run it. The quarterbacks had to make decisions to put the team in the best situation possible.”
Bohanon would welcome the challenge. He likes to lead. Last season as a junior, Bohanon, who is 6-foot-3 and weighs 215 pounds, passed for 2,734 yards and 27 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,134 yards and 14 scores.
Auburn has offered him the opportunity to play quarterback, as have LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Memphis. Arkansas is recruiting him as an athlete.
“Auburn wants me to come and play quarterback because I fit the style of offense they run,” Bohanon said. “They like that I can sit in the pocket and throw, and also make something happen if the play breaks down.”
Auburn has a commitment from Joey Gatewood, who is ranked the No. 7 dual-threat quarterback and No. 118 overall in the 2018 class.
It doesn’t matter to Bohanon.
“They said they are taking two (quarterbacks),” Bohanon said. “And the best one is going to win the job. I just want to compete. As long as I get an opportunity to compete, that’s all I can ask for.”
Bohanon will visit Tennessee on Saturday, and said he’ll visit LSU in late-April.
“I’ll also be back to Auburn, but I don’t know when,” Bohanon said. “Auburn is a top school.”
Bohanon, who is 6-foot-3 and weighs 215 pounds, plans to wait until after his senior season to announce his commitment.

Why 4-star Tyneil Hopper calls Auburn 'a great fit' (AL.com)
quote:
A number of factors have Auburn in the mix for four-star prospect Tyneil Hopper.
For starters, the Tigers believe he has the capability to play multiple spots on the field -- tight end, H-back and some receiver.
"They want me to play everything," Hopper said Saturday after his visit to the Plains. "That would be a great fit for me, I believe, because those are some of the things I like to do. It would be pretty good."
In addition, new Auburn tight ends and H-backs coach Larry Porter has already developed a solid relationship with Hopper. Porter recruited him while at North Carolina, and has revved up the effort now that he's at Auburn.
"Auburn's a great offer because I've actually known Coach Porter when he was at North Carolina," Hopper said. "He watched me grow up and become who I am today. As soon as he got here, he started recruiting me harder. I really enjoyed that and I really enjoy talking to him.
"(Porter told me to) keep working. He really wants me here and he's going to keep recruiting, recruiting me as hard as he can to make sure I come here."
Hopper has another solid connection at Auburn right now -- true freshman Malik Willis, who enrolled in January, is his former quarterback at Roswell High School in Georgia.
Hopper said he's reaming in contact with Willis, who has enjoyed getting acclimated to the program during spring practice.
"Malik loves it," Hopper said. "He says it's a great place to be, that the people treat you really good. The food is good, everything's good. He's just enjoying the campus and enjoying football."

Son of former NBA star could end up playing football at Auburn (AL.com)
UGA is the heavy favorite but honestly didn't realize we were in his top 3
quote:
Mookie Blaylock played in the NBA for 13 seasons with the Nets, Hawks and Warriors. Now his son Dominick, a standout wide receiver at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., is making a name for himself as a top prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
Blaylock, whose older brothers Daron and Zack both played football at Kentucky, is ranked as the nation's No. 11 overall prospect and No. 3 wide receiver in his class by 247Sports. He already holds more than 20 offers.
Blaylock visited Auburn for the third time last weekend and has the Tigers in his top three along with Clemson and Georgia.
"I like the campus here," said the 6-foot, 175-pounder. "I liked (watching) them practicing. It was good. Another experience for me to see Auburn again.
"I like their facility, I like their academics here, I like their coaching staff and how long they're going to stay here. I like it a lot."
Blaylock's area recruiter at Auburn is running backs coach Tim Horton, who has known his father for some time. While on the Plains, however, Blaylock got a chance to meet wide receivers coach Kodi Burns for the first time and came away impressed.
"I like him a lot," Blaylock said. "He's a good receivers coach. I did not know he played here, but it was cool to meet him for the first time."
Blaylock is currently on crutches after recently breaking his ankle playing baseball. He said his recovery is going well and he should be able to start walking without crutches next week.
As for his recruitment, a decision might not be too far off. Blaylock plans to figure out where he wants to attend college this summer and then announce his commitment at a later date.
"Probably the most important for picking a school is the academics, how good the team is, how good the coaches are and how long they're going to stay," he said.
Blaylock said he will "probably" return to Auburn this weekend for the annual A-Day spring scrimmage and again over the summer. Check out his sophomore highlights in the Hudl video below.

Doesn't sound like any commitments are coming this weekend. Maybe McClain if he visits again and decides to just pull the trigger but for now I think we gonna have to wait till summer
