My guess is fact UF is gonna miss on Tannor & Johnson they were able to convince Langham they had major need. Not gonna lie, did not see the scenario where Bama hangs on to Brown, AU gets Johnson, NEB gets Tannor & UF gets Langham happening

Id rather have Langham over Johnson

I know I already posted similar but I'm melting, how did we suck so hard at these OVs? Obviously many of these guys were wide open and we couldn't even sniff one of them?

You need to take a better look at the 2012 class again
Oh I remember it vividly. If not for Avery Young that would have been the worst possible NSD. Half the class was 3 stars. We have almost as many 4 stars in this class as we did people in the 2012 class.

Well there's nothing you can really say, even the most homerish AU fan can't sugarcoat it. Overall the class is OK but this is embarrassing. Even if we had gone into signing day thinking we had a chance it would have been better. It's almost as if we ended up in worse shape after our OVs. That's not good.

Ok enjoy 3rd place in SEC soon to be 4th. UGA has kicked our butt and Bama recruits nation wide. Pruitt soon to be another force. This isn’t about being negative but taking a realistic look at what is going on and fixing the problems. Tanking on all our targets at the end while UGA is turning recruits away is not anything to make light of. We have to develop out talent, and play very well every game. We better be moving quickly on top 2019 recruits and not be late to offer.

Considering we lie in between bama and uga (this year) I don't think it's embarrassing at all. In fact, I think it's a very good class considering. Poor closing or not
Missing on Hill still hurts though

Wiltfong hinting that UGA might be landing Quay Walker now. I was felt team that got him on final OV would land him. Quay Walker/Channing Tindall at ILB for the Dawgs in the future is not gonna be fun
UGA and Clemson's classes are unbelievable

Obviously Incorrect. We came into the OVs trailing w/
Malik Langham-Bama & Florida
Richard Gouraige-Florida & Clemson
JaMarr Chase-LSU
Quay Wakler-Vols & maybe UGA & Bama as well
Caleb Tannor UF & Nebraska
Caleb Johnson-Florida
Justyn Ross-Bama & Clemson
Dylan Wonnum-SCe
The only OVs that we came in w/ this month not trailing if we wanted the kids are
Ruger McCreary
CD Daniels
Harold Joiner
Matt Alaimo
Cam Taylor
& maybe Nate Watson even though he was a Miss St commit.
It's hard to come back from behind, especially this late in the game.

Malzahn is not the recruiter that Pruitt, Kirby, Saban etc are. It's important that Malzahn surround himself with great recruiters. We had that briefly with Champ, TROB, DCraig and look at the success we've had because of those 3 coaches. Now, replace those 3 coaches with Herb Hand, Greg Brown, and Chip Lindsey. You see where I'm going with this...
We're missing that 1-2 punch of Derrik Ansley and Tosh Lupoi or Jeff Scott and Brent Venebles Kirby Pruitt and GIllespi etc.
We've got some young guys like Kodi and Twill having some success but they're still rookies

I'm fine with either. I think Johnson is more explosive (heyooooo), but Langham is a guy with more potential to turn into a star because of his build.

This class is WAY fvcking better than "good", dude. You don't sign almost 70% blue-chip players in your class and call it "good". If your entire roster has 70% blue-chip players, you're on par with Clemson, Bama and Ohio State. This class didn't have the 5*s of some previous groups, but it's a damn good class.
And hell, let's just go on rough averages here. Out of 17 four star guys, let's say 2-3 of them become 5* level guys that end up All-SEC stars. Then let's say another 8 perform at minor contributor or bust level. Then that still leaves about 6-7 guys who probably will play about where they were ranked. Being 4* that probably means they are starters. So we get 2-3 all SEC guys and 6-7 more starters out of this class alone...that's fantastic. And that's only considering the 17 four star guys.

I think Kodi, TWill and Woodson will really, really turn it up this year.

quote:Ohio St says Yo! They have the best grade per recruit in the nation & are about to add Petit-Frere. Also they are about to have the 3rd highest # of 4 & 5 *s ever at 22 at least. The highest was Bama at 24 in 2008 before the NCAA created the yearly 25 limits. Bama also did it again last year.
UGA and Clemson's classes are unbelievable
USC also has a better average per recruit than Clemson at the moment.

So we are 3 shy of the old record? Frick this class.

Because we weren't even really recruiting him until we missed on everyone else.

quote:Disagree. Just because you have a bunch of 4*s doesn't necessarily make a good class. Having a good class is a combination of signing great players and meeting needs. We signed a lot of great players, but we totally missed out on a lot of NEEDS of this class. IMO - we just signed a bunch of 4* guys but the fact that we have such gaping holes does not necessarily mean we have a good class.

What needs do you think we missed on? To me biggest was impact safety and we got 2 guys that could fill that role
