Someone tell me something about Calvin Anderson. Why should I be excited about a guy from Rice?

KN now says that 3* DL John Mincey might visit this weekend. Sure seems like AU is set on taking a 5th DL. Still would rather have Tannor but I admittedly have not watched Mincey's senior tape yet. Tennessee is thought to be his leader

fwiw, my boy who lives in Phoenix City and knows all, regarding the basketball circuit in particular but knows football players too, says that Ross is definitely sounding like he's headed to bammer.

Anyone who follows recruiting and didn't know this was coming is either retarded, or just lives under a rock. I don't care what all the smoke about Clemson was... this has been a done deal for a long time, and you're kidding yourself if you think different

Completely different players. Calvin Anderson went to Rice because he was 6'5" 210 lbs his junior year in high school so had no recruiting publicity, but had great athleticism and footwork. Now is 300 lbs and still extremely athletic. Also very intelligent. I think would be an excellent stop-gap LT.

And was universally disliked by UGA fans and was always what they pointed to when showing how Richt left a talent void resulting in Kirby's poor first season.

So some interesting news from UF 247 visitor updates for this weekend. Apparently UF sees AU as a threat again for Gouraige & it's not a certainty he will visit Gainesville this weekend. Also mentions that his mom might be concerned about distance to Clemson. FWIW AU is about an hour & half close than Clemson. Not sure if that's enough or not. Either way, good to know we have become a threat again
Also no mention of Quay Walker in the preview. There have been concerns that UF would get him to visit them instead of us this weekend. Obviously could still happen but glad to see that possibility wasn't even mentioned

FWIW I completely get your concern as this does feel a bit like that recruitment. However, Anderson at least went against D1 competition & probably should have been an all conference performer. Also seems like some bigger schools going after him compared to Catalina but I could be remembering it wrong

So Bama offered 4* QB Brevin White last night. At one point it looked like AU might push for him. That would be an interesting pickup for the Tide. Even more interesting was in article on him White said that Bama might only have 1 QB on the roster after spring. Sounds like there is real concern Hurts will transfer
