KN put up an update on Roger McCreary last night. apparently Gus & Steele visited him in home yesterday. Says that AU is still his leader & does not have a #2 team right now. Will OV to NC State this weekend instead of Tennessee. Right now no OV is set for final weekend tho Duke is pushing to get a visit. KN believes that McCreary is a take tho AU is not pushing hard for a decision right now

My guess is staff wants to make completely sure that they can't land someone Olaijah Griffin before taking McCreary but that McCreary is the top of the list for backup options. I think my boy Foucha is gonna be forced to go to Arkansas

Well looks like going after our 3rd Jackson-Olin prospect. We have apparently offered 2019 LB LaVonta Bentley who is blowing up right now on the recruiting trail. Got like 5 offers yesterday including one from Oregon

We have already offered a 2020 player too from that school

Alabama just offered Bentley as well. John Garcia, a scout for 247, says he sees a lot of Moultry in Bentley's game

KN says Malzahn stopping by Troup County this morning which is loaded with talent. 2019 4* LB King Mwikuta (Bama commit), 2020 WR Kobe Hudson (AU lean) & 2020 DL Andy Boykin (AU commit). Probably some more guys there too

His next stop is expected to be Callaway which is loaded with prospects as well but most notably have one of our top OG targest in 2019 Keiondre Jones

Pretty sure ESPN's final rankings drop today. Think E asked ESPN guy on Twitter & he said the 23rd. Fact that AU had 5 commits in their all star game is probably a good sign

With UGA so loaded at G and our proximity to Callaway, this is one we really need.

Agreed. Unfortunately last update KN had on Jones was he thinks AU is too close & wants to go someplace a little further away. We will see if that sticks or not. I think Clemson is the big threat right now

Or it shows they have merit. Look at where the top 10 teams in the recruiting rankings TYPICALLY finish in actual on-field rankings. tOSU, Bama, UGA, Clemson, FSU, Auburn and the like all are in the "blue-chip roster" category and unless major injuries happen (or shitty QB play) all of those teams will typically be in or around the top 10 near the end of the year.

Well given we already have decent numbers at the guard spot, but questionable ability, I think taking a guy with the talent is worth the minimal risk.
I t might be to the staff if he didn't continue to play games with them, Saying he would commit multiple times in the Summer & early season only not to. Pissed Gus off a good bit.

Except that rankings matter on the macro level. That's why top 10 classes are consistently playing for the natty.

Man Clemson becoming a big factor in GA is really not good for us.

Agreed. Still shocked we held onto Monday. Their DB recruiting in GA has really hurt us in recent seasons

So sounds like AU will not take a TE in this class. Brian Dohn (guy connected with Alaimo) & KN have changed CBs on Alaimo to A&M. KN believes AU won't take a TE in this class

My guess is we are planning on taking one of those DL targets (Tannor/Johnson/Langham). I am ok with passing on Alaimo as I know plenty here are as well

Hard to justify a scholly spot for a position that we under utilize.

Yea, seems like we would have had a really good shot at McMichael and Terrell last year and going back, and not from GA, the good Alexander brother.

Hard to utilize it when we haven’t had the talent to do so since CJU. That’s where Landon Rice was supposed to fit in.
