seems like most of our guys that had slight drops were just functions of other guys moving up, not necessarily them moving down.
Correct. Mostly due to others getting All Star bumps.

After Rivals update, Matthew Hill back into the top 100 at #97 on 247 Composite. Miller just outside at #117

AU has also moved to #9 in 247 composite team rankings. Just a bit ahead of ND

Now just need ESPN to give Miller a nice bump & not drop Hill we can have 3 commits in top 100

I will take a class like this all day over one like the 2010 that has a few 5*'s but half the class is 3* or lower.

Same here. The majority of our class are guys that the staff identified early on as their targets, stars or not. If we trust our coach's eyes, then this should turn out to be a very productive class.

19 is our record FWIW & tied for the most by any team in the recruiting site era.

What year was that? I looked through rivals and most I saw was this year?

ETA: NVM I see it.

I don't use Rivals unless I state them in a post. I should have clarified that. I use the composite.

I noticed a couple other rankings things. We dropped back down to 16 4*s on the composite. It was due to Jalil Irvin losing his 4th * & dropping alot overall spots on 247 only rankings. They now have him 685 overall. He must have had a poor performance at the offense-defense All American bowl last month.

Also Shed Jackson had a 70 spot jump in his composite score. He had a big spot jump in 247 only rankings and they made him a 4* outside their Top 247 at 318 overall. He needs 16 more composite points to be a 4* on the composite. That's about a 12 spot combined jump from Rivals &/or ESPN that's needed.

He must have impressed somebody to make the jump he did in the rankings.

He had 2 very impressive days early in all star week so no question the ability is there but then tapered off to his normal uninspired self.

Well given we already have decent numbers at the guard spot, but questionable ability, I think taking a guy with the talent is worth the minimal risk.

Says a lot about our staff's ability to evaluate. Because not all of these guys were 4* when first identified. Many of them got bumps as they started to get more evals and attention.

If we can't get an OT then I would fine with taking Tank as well. Not sure I agree on the questionable ability part with Harrell & Horton having solid years & the reports that Brodarious Hamm showed out at bowl practice.

Not sure why Irvin dropped as far as he did. I think he's already a well developed player and has a bright future at the center spot. Seems like recruiting services aren't high on our two OL prospects

Outside of OT & CB our staff has not had to go far down the list either at any positions. Obviously there have been misses but for most part staff has gotten who they wanted & many of those guys were not highly rated at the start. I mean there are a number of 3* kids that want on board that in the past probably could have found a spot but we have filled up so fast that many are gonna be left looking elsewhere. I really like this class tho I would love it if we could reel in one last big fish & a solid OT prospect.

Or it shows that recruiting ranking are mostly fake and simply go by where guys commit.
