AU not getting one of 5* OT Nicholas Petit-Frere OVs. Was always a longshot. AU focused on Gouraige, Barnes, Wonnum & Goss. Wonnum will OV this weekend & AU will have his teammate Michael Harris & buddy Jalil Irvin on campus as well

KN put up 2 quick insiders in past 24 hours. Here's summary of first one
- 4* OT Dylan Wonnum will be on an OV to AU this weekend. Tigers also having two guys he's close to on campus as well in 4* LB Michael Harris & 4* OL Jalil Irvin. SCAR is still the leader due to that family connection but both Harris & Irvin honestly believe AU has a shot. SCAR & LSU will probably get OVs as well. KN says this is probably AU's best & last shot at Wonnum. AU probably looking better for Gouraige & Goss right now
- There's a chance both 4* WR Matthew Hill & 4* CB Olaijah Griffin visit this weekend. AU trying to get Hill back on campus to lock him down. AU trying to get in the race with Griffin who also likes Michigan, Tennessee & USC

Does that seem a little early? Nix will be an upcoming SR..so why not wait till fall season?
Just wondering..maybe doesnt want to be distracted during last year..and wants other teams to steer clear?

Qb recruiting is on a different schedule, especially for highly ranked guys like nix.

He has stated for awhile now he plans to commit between his junior & senior seasons. Wants to be a lead recruiter in the class. Also speculation on my part, but I think Nix has known where he has wanted to go for his whole life
Also with new early signing period becoming the de facto new signing day I think you will see guys claim their spots earlier if possible

QBs are often the center piece of a recruiting class in terms of relationships. He stands to gain better talent around him by helping the staff recruit

Maybe he is a true AU fan and wants to get the 2019 recruiting train rolling instead of just getting attention.
