Didn’t Auburn’s site writers go to Rashaan Evans ceremony?

That's why he said 95%. We all remember Evans

I don’t remember but I did say 95% not 100%

Oh I know. I was just wondering forgot if they went to his or not

Yea Rashaan was a notorious time the tea leaves were wrong, on the positive side Markaviest Bryant was one that went our way when things seemed lost.

Looks like Hill had a video made by SECCountry. Guessing that last visit by Malzahn had no chance of changing things

AU just offered 3* OT Walker Culver out of Tennessee. Holds offers from OHST, ND & others

Also 3* DL Jamarcus Chatman decommitted from Tennessee & 3* DT Allen Love decommitted from Ole Miss. A lot going on this week

This is why it's not realistic to expect as highly ranked of a class as UGA and Bama. Being the state schools is a huge draw. Most of the families in those states dreamed of going to school at those schools (although most are sidewalk rednecks with sh#t for brains), and if their sons have the chance to go to THEIR dream school, they want to push it on the kids. It's a major uphill battle for Auburn. Still have to try, but it's amazing how many AU fans just don't take that into account when bitching and moaning "we're getting leftovers/why aren't we getting our top targets all of the time".

AU is apparently still communicating with 3* ATH Nathaniel Watson. He's an AU legacy who is currently committed to Mississippi State as a WR. Apparently Kevin Steele stopped by to visit him last Thursday and told Watson "hey’ve got everything back on track and they’re still recruiting me hard". He is not signing early & plans on taking an OV to AU on Jan 12th. Apparently AU project him as a safety/receiver athlete.
Interesting recruitment to follow. AU tried to get him on board early but he decided to wait & AU moved on. We liked him originally more as a LB but he wants to play offense. I wonder if they might try & get him on board as a WR but then transition him over to TE. Could also be a backup option

KN also put an article on 4* WR Seth Williams last night. His recruitment is shut down since committing and apparently no schools are even really recruiting him anymore. He is not an EE but does plan on signing early with AU & then OVing in January (didn't know you could still take OVs after signing). Says he probably won't check out any other programs. Says he wears his AU jacket around Tuscaloosa
So pumped we got this kid. 6'3" 212 lbs and runs like a gazelle. He's got a chance to be a monster down the road

OHST writer put up article on Walker Culver who AU offered last night. Apparently his dad & older brother went to AU so we might be shaking things up for him. He's top two were Ohio State & Virginia Tech. He is planning on visiting Tech this weekend & signing next week. As of now says he is still planning on following through with that. Apparently OHST told him they need to find a scholarship if they want to take him basically meaning they don't have a spot for him right now.
I would not be surprised to see him push his decision back to February. Fact that he's an AU legacy is really interesting. Need to check his film out. He's got great size & ranked the #15 OT in the country

Yep. Kid reminds me of Montez Billings coming out of high school. Similar body types, both really smooth, fast guys. wish Billings hadn't had all his injury issues/played during Tubbs worst offensive phase. Williams should be a very good one down the road for us.

GTFO w this garbage.
How dare you suggest that flagship state schools have a huge advantage in their home state recruiting

Wonder who is lurking this thread? They are on a down voting spree

Given our need at OT I wonder why we waited so long to offer given his AU connections?
Posted on 12/12/17 at 8:59 am to TigerPaw1
Pass. He is the 45th rated OT in the country and 16th rated player in TN. He is also pretty small.

Who are we realistically going to get over him at this point? We've struck out on almost all our OT targets. 247 he is the 15th ranked OT

This is the kind of player that will probably never start for Auburn - spends 4 years on the bench then transfers as a graduate transfer to the University of Tulsa. We have enough of these types of players on our team already - don't need another one.
