I read that on another board... it sums up recruiting pretty well.

We can all point to individual recruits who were either overrated or underrated.... but there’s no denying teams that rank consistently high in recruiting have the most success.

AU has offered 3* DL Malik Langham.

Check him out. He is 6-5-1/2 and 270 something. Athletic, and he can bend. Doesn’t have cankles. Could be an OL in the making. It is mentioned in his 247 bio. Chases down some backs as well.

He is almost a 4* now, maybe he hits a growth spurt (aka: gets some “gear), and gets to 6’-07” and 315

So apparently AU has offered 3* DL Malik Langham. He just got the mother of all Bama bumps in most recent ranking updates. Interesting we are sending out a DL offer this late. Right now he's considered a major Bama lean but KN says he grew up an AU fan

Got some scoop on him from over the weekend involving his HC.

His HC felt that if he didn't commit to Bama during his visit that he was going to Auburn. He said that Langham was legitimately a lifelong AU fan and loved it. Didn't have hard feelings on the late offer, but he made promises to other coaches that he'd take OVs there so he feels inclined to keep his promises. Good kid, it sounds like. HC also felt that he might be best suited at RT if it doesn't work out on the DL.

Thanks for the info

I need to check his senior tape out. I wasn't super high on him after his junior year but dude is getting offered by everybody right now. Some of that could be the thinned pool but it also sounds like he had an outstanding senior year

I would enjoy taking another instate DL away from Bama

Edit: Also interesting to see talks about him switching to OL. Wonder if that is part of the reason got a late offer. Maybe AU sees his future on the OL

Rashad Cheney & Jadon Haselwood

Both seem like UGA locks but they keep visiting. Supposedly Haselwood is close with Kodi Burns. Probably a longshot but definitely doesn't hurt to get visits

Also sounds like we gonna have a junior day February 3rd. Pretty sure we had a big one on the final weekend before NSD as well last year. Need to dig up who all ended up committing/signing from that group

No. 1 WR in the country visits with fellow Georgia commit (247)
quote:

Auburn didn't have any official visitors on campus over the weekend, but the Tigers hosted at least two high-profile juniors.

In fact, one is a 5-star recruit.

Per the Twitter feed of Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove, he made a visit to Auburn to spend time with the coaching staff.

Haselwood is No. 1 receiver in the country for 2019 according to the industry generated 247Sports Composite. It wasn't his first recent visit to Auburn either.

He also attended the Georgia game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in November, won by the Tigers.

Haselwood was on campus Saturday at Auburn with another high-profile 2019 Georgia commit -- defensive tackle Rashad Cheney, his Cedar Grove teammate.

Another big 2019 recruit also was on campus over the weekend -- 4-star Auburn quarterback commit Bo Nix of Pinson Valley (Ala.).

Big offers starting to roll in for Newsome (Rivals)
quote:

THE LATEST: Last week was a big week for 2019 defensive back Quinton Newsome. The 6-foot-2, 180 pound junior out of Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett picked up offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia in a four day span and his recruitment has taken offer.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "It feels good to see all of these offers starting to come in," said Newsome. "Most of them really came out of nowhere. West Virginia was the one that had shown some attention, but most of the offers were a big surprise. Each of them had a coach come through the school to tell my coach about the offer."

STILL LEARNING: "I do not really know much about the schools that offered me last week yet. I have been to camp and a game at Vanderbilt, so I know I like their set up of things and how they take care of the players. I have camped at Auburn, so that was nice and I like the environment there. Other than that, I do not really know much yet. Coach McGriff at Ole Miss is a coach I have had a good conversation with, so I am just learning about the schools right now."

ONE DOES STAND OUT: "Auburn would be my top school right now. When I was over there for camp in the summer, I really liked it. It was just a good feeling there around the coaches and I just felt I fit in well there."

OFFERS ARE MOTIVATION: "I just want to keep working and keep better. These offers are great and I am glad to have them, but I know I have to keep working to earn more. These will just keep me training harder, working harder and doing all I can to get better."

RIVALS REACTION: It was only a matter of time for Newsome. He started off the season at free safety, then moved to cornerback and he never looked back. He was a big part of a stingy defense that helped North Gwinnett win a state title. He is a versatile defensive back with great length that will continue to add offers. Auburn is the school that stands out to him early on out of the schools that have offered, but he is still considering each school. Florida is the school he grew up a fan of as a kid. He has yet to hear from the Gators, but if they offer, they will quickly move up his list. He plans to visit Wake Forest February 3.

That North Gwinnett secondary is insane. AU has offered 3 guys back there in Newsome, DJ Turner & Warren Burrell. I also love their RB Tyler Goodson who is starting to get some attention as well. Would take any of those 3 DBs if possible. I think Turner is a Clemson lean early
