Yep.

I wasn't trying to refute what you're saying. I don't think you're wrong and I think you're fairly spot on. Just wanted to add my thoughts to it

I'm not disputing what you said... It's a fact Jackson had more interest from P5 schools to play QB. Doesn't take away from Willis athleticism and upside at QB in our offense.

I hope it is more because Woodey and JS are here that we had to take him. I can see the point of needing another QB, but he will never play for us.

I'm onboard with the lack of excitement but it feels early to write off a high school guy.

Albeit, our coaches don't have the best HS track record at QB

ETA: I feel like we're due to get lucky on one of these guys eventually

Not being excited about a guy is not writing a guy off. We don't have to pump the guy up either.

And I'd say we lucked out with Marshall.

To be fair, AUCE said he'll never play for us.

Which, also being fair, the deck is stacked against him playing but that's kind of a write off right?

Some of Malzahn's QB choices remind me of MLB GM's draft picks on kids that can throw 100 but only have a 4 seam and can't locate it But eventually one of them turns out to be Craig Kimbrel, eventually. Maybe?

If he had a lot of upside at QB, P5 programs that are worth a damn would want him at QB.
Everybody wants the next Cam Newton, Nick Marshall, Deshaun, Watson, Johnny Manziel, Jalen Hurts, etc. If they saw the upside, they would have been knocking down his doors. The fact that they want him at DB says they don't see the upside at QB.

Which is probably an accurate assessment

I thought it was too early to say it?

I thought it was to late to be early. But then early never came and we were both late.

Then what?

Marshall was a DB coming out of HS... Manziel was a 3-star nobody who was recruited by many to play DB. 2 of the 6 examples you gave work against your point dumbass

Maybe we picked up a 4*DB by playing along and recruiting him as a 3*QB?

If he is a legitimate athlete, he can find the field. Maybe not at QB?

I'm saying everybody wants the next Manziel or Marshall, so yeah they will take a DT QB with upside. The shite you're talking about is irrelevant.

Just to entertain your stupidity. Yeah we offered a DB, (and got lucky)but we also offered JF3 and now Malik.
JFF at least held an offer to TAM

Maybe. In that case I would be a little more excited. But that doesn't seem to be the case

I ain't got a clue but that's not the point I was trying to make.

If teams wanted the next Manziel, they wouldn't offer him at DB...lol

Not sure what the frick he is talking about.

I was actually curious about this.

Turns out Mack Brown recruited BOTH Manziel and RG3 as DBs

Not that it changes anything
