So was curious what our ceiling right now is on this class. Basically what happens if we land our top targets that we have a realistic shot at landing. Let me make it clear I do not expect or anticipate this class happening but I do find it interesting to see what our highest spot would be. So the perfect class as of now would be

5* QB Jarrett Stidham (no composite ranking but 247 now ranks him #1 JUCO and gives him 5*)
4* WR Tarik Black (probably running #2 behind Michigan right now)
3* TE Tre' McKitty (battling with FSU/MIA, doesn't like fact TE is not used in our offense)
4* DE Markaviest Bryant (#3 right now behind UGA & LSU but rising)
4* DE Isaiah Buggs (#2 right now behind LSU)
4* DE Ryan Johnson (we lead for him)
4* LB Tyler Taylor (might have slight lead over UGA right now)
4* CB Christopher Henderson (probably #2 behind UF)
4* S Devon Hunter (VT leader after that could be anybody)
4* CJ Avery (we are leader right now)

That class would give us score of 282.53 which would put us in the 5-7 range. What's crazy is that class would not pass what Ohio State & Alabama have right now....

In Plains Sight: Tray Bishop updates on position, commitment and U.S. Army Bowl (SECCountry)

quote:

My quick take: Everyone remains a factor. Auburn will treat Bishop like an uncommitted prospect because he’s showing signs of one.

And for those who brush off a potential Bishop de-commitment and say the bigger worry should be finding the quarterback of the future, think again. Bishop is a bonafide standout who could be a playmaker in the secondary and in the return game. There’s a reason Malzahn attended one of Bishop’s games earlier in the season, and it’s not just because he wanted to evaluate him at cornerback.

The 4-star athlete will serve as one of the U.S. Army Bowl’s top safeties. Auburn could have some major, major depth if he did the same for the Tigers.

Let the wild ride begin.

Where was I complaining? If anything, I skipped that emotion and went straight for fishing for the downvotes. If you have as many stalkers as I do, you learn to keep a heavy pimp hand.

Auburn commit T.D. Moultry reverses course, will play in Alabama-Mississipi All-Star game (AL.com)

quote:

Look out Mississippi football. Here comes Auburn commit T.D. Moultry.

The Jackson-Olin linebacker on Tuesday added one more football game to his illustrious Alabama high school football career when he reversed course, opting to play in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game.

Previously, Moultry thought his body needed rest between the end of his senior season – Jackson-Olin reached the first round of the Class 6A playoffs – and the Army All-American Bowl game on Jan. 7 in San Antonio, Texas.

Then, according to Mustangs coach Tim Vakakes, Moultry felt energized in late November. Coupled with the loss of Central-Phenix City linebacker Markail Benton (knee and shoulder injuries), an Alabama football commit, Moultry decided to take part in the state-vs-state showdown. This year, the annual game will be played Dec. 10 at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl.

Moultry ended his senior season with 133 total tackles (68 assists, 10 tackles for loss), five sacks, six quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles and four pass break-ups. He’s the big and fast reason why Jackson-Olin (8-3) finished with its first winning season since 1999.

Scout On the Road: November (Scout)

This article is super long with lots of guys we don't care about so here's the few mentioning AU targets

quote:

S C.J. Avery,@ Grenada (Miss.), 2017

Avery, like many top prospects, plays quarterback for his high school team. In the game he was scouted, he played Neshoba Central, and he made plays on each side of the ball. Safety is going to be his home on the next level, and he is a very smart, well-rounded defensive back. Avery is an instinctive player, he has very good ball skills, and he may not wow you with one part of his game, but he is solid in so many areas. He is down to Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. A decision is expected December 14. -Simmons

quote:

WR Henry Ruggs, Montgomery (Ala.) Robert E. Lee 2017

Montgomery (Ala.) Robert E. Lee wide receiver Henry Ruggs loves basketball, to the point that he didn't play football as a high school freshman or sophomore, but after a breakout junior year it's easy to see that his future is on the gridiron. He is a little league legend in Montgomery and he is still able to make the wow plays that built that notion many years ago. On this night, October 14, he was able to do more of the same against one of the best defenses in all of Alabama - Phenix City (Ala.) Central. On top of that, he did it after his quarterback went down with an injury, forcing him to take the snaps. Even with all 11 sets of defensive eyes on him, Ruggs was able to make tacklers look silly in the open field and run by most others on a touchdown screen, a long catch and even a run from the QB position during the show. -Garcia

quote:

WR Tarik Black, Cheshire (Conn.) Academy, 2017

Black is not targeted much because teams bracket him in coverage, but the Scout 100 receiver is still impressive to watch. He gets off the line of scrimmage in a flash, is smooth in the open field and high points the ball well. He already officially visited Michigan, Auburn and Alabama, and he will be at UCLA on Dec. 9. He also moved his announcement up and will make his choice known in mid December. -Dohn

Are we interested in that Myles kid that decommitted from LSU? Watching his film, he looks like a more Ath Sean White that can actually throw the deep pass.

Don't think so. It appears we finally have decided to recruit dual threat guys. Barrett/Franklin/Narcisse/Mond/Stidham/Gatewood have been our most recent QB focuses and they are all dual threat QBs

KN put in CB for AU on Stidham. Says wouldn't read too much into right now just feels AU landing place as of today

Narcisse is thinking about taking an official visit to AU. However LSU beat writer doubts it happens because LSU's in home visit went real well and he plans on taking official Dec 9th to LSU. Probably a long shot but things will get interesting if he does make trip to us

I want to correct what I said about him yesterday. I said he had good throwing mechanics, but I went back and watched him vs the Myles kid. Narcisse doesn't appear to have a big arm. Add that to his knee issues, and he seems like a high risk recruit. We might benefit by looking elsewhere unless we are trying to establish that area for recruiting.

A healthy Narcisse would be a beast in our offense unfortunately he can't seem to stay healthy. Perfect world we pull him and Stidham so Narcisse can redshirt and heal up. Doubt that happens though

Also LSU finally offered Brandon Martin after losing Ausbon and Holloman committed to Dawgs. Guessing now focus is on Black, Ruggs and Terry
