He's not dead to me but it's pretty disappointing. Down a rung for sure which hurts me to say because he's probably my all time favorite AU player (mainly due to my age when he was playing).

I couldn't get excited about him, but I was excited about not having Robert Leff act like an open door
I am not opposed to a 1 year commitment to a player when it otherwise would be a wasted scholarship

Horton could play tackle. Better inside, but he would be better than Leff

Darius James could be a RT if Horton moved to LT
ETA**: I find it extremely hard to believe that Malzahn doesn't give Leff LT. Leff is a senior and has family in the AD. I don't think that gets him the start, but not having a clear cut better option makes that relevant
